Can anyone else think of any other pitcher who gave up two homers to the same opposing pitcher in consecutive outings? Rusch must enjoy the notoriety.

Time to cut sling with Rusch. I don't care if they bring up Hill, Guzman, whoever. If he's in the rotation when one of Prior, Wood, or Miller come back, he better be the first one out of the rotation, not Marshall.

I once saw Walt Terrell hit two HRs in the same game against some nameless Cub pitcher

who's got a line on how many runs are scored on Rusch? I am thinking 7...and that makes me a little depressed.

All solo homers.

I'm only 4 solo homers away from my prediction.

Despite this outing, I feel more comfortable with Rusch in the rotation rather than the pen. Of course, depending on when everyone comes back, I hope Marshall sticks in the rotation longer than Rusch.

You'd rather give rusch more innings to do damage?

Who said that? (besides you)

Rusch has been more productive in the rotation than the pen.

He would probably be more productive in the rotation for the Iowa Cubs, which is where he should be.

what i hope tomorrow's transaction line looks like:

CHICAGO CUBS - Designate P Glendon Rusch for assignment; purchase the contract of P Angel Guzman from Iowa of the Pacific Coast League.

Cut Rusch outright, that's what I would do. He shouldn't be on this team. He only had one good year for us which is an anomaly.

He's on the books for 5 million, he isn't going anywhere. Not unless he's traded.

Wow! they really gave him 5 million? That was a really bad idea.... *shakes his head* ... 5 million? really?

In the words of Ron Burgundy, "I immediately regret this decision."

Well he seems to be doing a good job of spreading out the homers to one an inning, so I dont know about that.

I wouldn't call Ferguson Jenkins a nameless Cubs pitcher.

I asked, not said.

He's doing awesome right now. Love that 9+ ERA in the rotation.

Read the rest of my and you'll see my feelings on Rusch in the rotation or try and remember my posts in the past, how I wanted Williams over Rusch last year as well as Hill over Rusch at the end of last year.

Trying to look intelligent by showing how poorly Rusch is doing, helps prove my point. Then look at his numbers as a starter compared to a reliever and you'll see what I'm talking about, instead of using stupid smilies.
