If I'm not mistaken, his stint on the 15 Day DL should be nearing an end before too awful long, so I was wondering if anyone knew when those 15 days were officially up? Also, has anyone heard anything about his progress of late? The last I heard was about a week ago when it was reported he was throwing to batters.

Didn't he throw to batters on Wednesday as well? I think they stretched him out to 60 pitches and were planning on stretching him to 80 the next time (which with 4 days rest would be tomorrow)

Obviously he still needs to make a couple of rehab starts before he can rejoin the team.

He was put on the 15 day DL on March 27th. I also thought he threw 40 pitches on Wednesday like has been stated already.

Well if he went down on March 27th, That means he should be set to come back off the DL on April 11th or 12th, which would be Tuesday or Wednesday, as would Prior, as he went down the same day, correct?

Speaking of which, Any news on prior?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure the 15-day disabled list means you have to stay on the DL for at least 15 days. I'm pretty sure you can keep a player on the 15-day DL for longer than 15 days.

Any news on Miller's progress?

Bet you all wish there was an injury thread. Trust me its better this way.

BITE YOUR TONGUE!

So I'm guessing Mid. May would be a safe bet for Miller, Wood and Prior to return to the Cubs rotation.

If I were to guess. I would say KW last week of April,Miller 1st week of May & Prior between mid May & early June.

Allegedly Wood will be back by the end of the month (That's what they said when he went down) and my guess is Prior and Miller will be mid may additions.

I'm not sure about the 15 day DL but I thought after the 15 days were up they put you on another 15 day DL.

No, it doesn't have to be done in multiples of 15.

Yup...you just can't take him off EARLIER than 15 days. He can stay on there for 16, 20, 180 days, whatever.

KERRY WOOD UPDATE:

He's still injured.

Thanks.

insightful post.

Indeed. There's no insight to be had with this subject, so I did the best I could. Until he's back, he's injured. That's pretty much it.

Yep. You've made your view on this issue known plenty of times in the past already.

A lot, if not most, of the rest of us, however, would like the latest updates on their progress, even if you deem them insignificant.

Injured =/= Rehabing.

According to the Trib, Prior will throw a bullpen session Tuesday at Wrigley since he'll be in town over that bogus autograph appearance lawsuit from a couple of years ago. David van Dyck believes that puts him about a week behind Wood, meaning early-to-mid May. That's a little too early, in my opinion. I think it will be mid-to-late May if there are no setbacks. But he hasn't really done enough yet to get a real good sense.

Wood will throw batting practice on Monday and hopefully pitch a simulated game after that. Wade Miller is up to 50 pitches off the mound and is still about 10 days behind Kerry.

Will Carroll said,

"Wood is throwing well, rated by many who saw him this spring as “fully back.” One player who watched him throw batting practice said that his “BP curve was better than most guys' ‘A’ curve.” "

He also said Prior and Miller were on about the same timetable. Sounds like they both need to build stamina, but are throwing without pain.

Color me cautiously optimistic.
