We have the Knicks first rounder this year, right?

Yep, and the option to swap first round picks with NY in the 2007 draft too.

Holy smokes, that's wonderful.

Can you imagine the backlash in NY if the Knicks land the top pick in 2007 and it's the Bulls that end up with Greg Oden? Dream a little dream.

stern would find a way to revoke the deal.

Yeah when I heard that I said goodbye to Eddy gladly. Pax handed two lottery picks? Thank you Zeke.

Good one. :D

I think the league would love to see Oden end up in Chicago, though.

Oden strikes me as a guy who's gonna struggle in the pro game. I'm not so sure he'll be a dominant college player.

I watched some of one of his high school games on ESPNU, and his offense wasn't extremely impressive. He ran the floor very well, and was a nice defensive presence inside, but he didn't do much in the set offense(aside from catch passes for dunks after his man helped penetration) and he had probably half a foot on everyone else in the game.

How so? He's 7, 245 at 18, and an outstanding athlete for his size. I think he's got David Robinson written all over him, and he'd be the consensus number 1 pick in this year's draft if not for the new minimum-age policy.

He hasn't had to develop a post game yet. I think a year of Big Ten ball should prepare him nicely for the NBA.

curry has been playing inspired ball lately, but the knicks are worthless. any business venture zeke engages in fails spectacularly, i wouldn't trust him to oversee the maintenance of my foosball table. he'd probably trade it, my sabersaw, and snowblower for a brand new air hockey table.

too bad air hockey sucks.

A much better gauge of Oden's abilities are if you could pull up his AAU numbers somehow.

My guess without looking is that he'd be a dominant force.

The reasons CP points out are my reasons. I don't think a year in college is enough. He's much more raw than Robinson, of course, David had the Navy background and age advantage.

Enough for what? For him to reach his full potential? I can't agree with that.

Honestly, I have no idea what kind of player Robinson was during his senior year in high school. Oden's size and athleticism reminds me of Robinson. It's not fair to compare a teenager to a HOF player, of course. But I do think Oden has that kind of ceiling.

I think Morrison can play the 2G, of course, he'll struggle with the shorter quicker guards, but he's a much better team defender than a 1 on 1 guy.

If Rudy Gay is out there and the Bulls are drafting, they should draft him. He's the best out there.

If you're looking for the best C, you're looking at Davis from MSU. :x

I agree on his ceiling. But I just don't think he'll reach it. Not a good history for big guys with little amateur experience who suceed in the pros. He has a nice build, but it's far from being an NBA body. I see him as more of a Tyson Chandler (with better offensive skills) than a Robinson type. I.E. 15/8 kinda guy rather than a consistent 20-25 ppg/10-12 rebs type of player.

Hater!

Seriously though, I find it hard to believe Davis would be a C in the NBA, and he won't be a great NBA player.

Just about all the starting 2-guards in the league are shorter and quicker than Morrison. :D He might be able to handle it, but I think he's much better suited to the 3.

He's a top three talent in this draft, no doubt. But I think Aldrige has a similar upside and would be a better fit for the Bulls.

Yeah, not much C talent available in this year's draft. It's a pretty deep one for power forwards, though.

I think the success rate is about the same as those with college experience. Oden could very well not turn into a superstar, but I don't think it'll be due to a lack of college ball experience.

I'll clarify my point. I don't think not going to college, or only going for a year will hurt Oden. My point is that he's X amount of time away from being as good as everyone says he will be, and I don't think he'll be there as a freshman, or as an NBA player after one year in school. All of this is IMO of course. That said, that doesn't mean I think taking Oden with that '07 lottery pick is a bad idea.

That's pretty much how I feel too. I'm probably being a little hard on him though.

I think he's a better fit as a 3 as well, but if he's the BPA and the Bulls are on the clock. I hope the draft him and then it becomes an issure between Deng/Gordon, and I'd rather have Deng over Gordon in the long-term. Gordon is a better player now, but I don't think he's going to get much better than where he's at. Deng willl improve over the duration of his career.

If forced to pick, I'd rather keep Deng as well, and I think he's a better player than Ben right now. But I'd rather keep both of them and I hope both remain in the Bulls' long term plans. Like Morrison, I don't think either one is particularly suited to play the 2 in the NBA, which is why I hope the Bulls draft Ronnie Brewer with their likely high lottery pick. Brewer is almost as big as Morrison, he's much quicker, and he has the handle to play some point. Adding a 6-7 player at the 1 would make it much easier for the Bulls to play Gordon or Hinrich at the 2. I think both Gay and Morrison are solid talents, but neither one is head and shoulders better than the other top five talents in this draft, and I don't see small forward as a need for the Bulls with Deng and Noch on the roster.

I'd like to see more of a shooter out of the 2 than Brewer, this team needs someone to extend the defense for Deng to slash and post up as well as the much needed inside presence.

Earlier I mentioned Davis as the best C prospect in the draft, there's O'Bryant out of Bradley I forgot to mention.

Brewer's a combo guard so he could play point and leave the shooting to Gordon. If they draft a 2, I think his ability to drive to the basket and finish is paramount. The Bulls are way too dependant on jump shots at the moment. Ager could be a nice fit if they draft a PF with their first pick.
