Boy, Shelden Williams and JJ Redick both dropped themselves a few spots in the draft.

Even though Williams had a decent game, they both showed me that they are going to be manhandled in the NBA. Athleticism is severely lacking. I can't see either as a potential NBA star.

Redick will have a Steve Kerr/Paxson/John Starks type career in the league. Think about it. Chris Duhon is in a 9 man rotation. Smush Parker is a starter. There are what, 30 teams in the league? You think a team like Denver couldn't use a 3 point shooter in their 9 man rotation? Cleveland? Redick can shoot. He wore down towards the end of the season, but he'll have a nice, role player career in the league.

Williams won't. He'll be a 2nd round pick at best, and he'll be out of the league within 3 years. He's just not that good.

Okay, so I'm not alone. He isn't big enough or strong enough to sit in the paint and post up against NBA power forwards.

That was great to watch. Redick is gone from the tournament, him and McRoberts couldn't stop complaining, and LSU just beat them.

On another note, LSU's coach looks like Smeagol before he goes into the caves.

when cbs showed john brady's wife, my jaw dropped. how in the world he did he get her?

Nice run by Bradley. I really underestimated Memphis. I had them losing last round because I thought they were too young and hadn't had a challenge in months, but they are showing very well. That said, they STILL haven't really met a big challenge in months. The first three games in the tourney so far have been small and mid-major teams. They'll have Gonzaga or UCLA next. That will be their first major matchup since December.

I knew that Bradley was going to loose this game, I was hoping that they would at least make it close.

Memphis, however, is just that good. They can score in bunches and are athletic from the bench. The big thing was how well they shut down O'Bryant on the offensive side, heck, they shut down the inside. That stopped Bradley, which plays an inside game.

Anyways, good run, wish it could have gone farther, but Memphis is going more than likely to the Championship game, in my opinion.

His best hope is that a team like Chicago takes him in the 2nd round because he *might* be able to rebound and block shots, and play hard defense. And even then he'd barely crack the rotation. I just don't see him being anything at the next level.

Anyone else notice that like every player on LSU is a freshman or sophomore? If the stars don't run for the NBA, they are going to be beasts next season

No matter how effective it may be, I HATE the style that WVU plays. It's like last year's Illini but with no inside game. They are a great argument for moving the 3-point line back. It's boring as hell to watch a team just launch three after three after three.

WVU has 15 points, all on 3's.

Aldridge is going to be a great NBA player. 6'11", a sophomore, and already can shoot 18 feet jumpers. Please come be a Bull soon, thanks

Well that didn't take long. The two teams I picked losing by a combined 14. WV can't do anything but hit 3's.

and how. 1-6 from 2pt range, 7 for 18 from 3.

Aldridge is 7-7 in the half, and most are mid range jumpers. Screw you Shelden Williams

Tyrus Thomas is just an unreal athlete. There's no way he doesn't declare. That is just freak ability.

Would I be pissed if we had to "settle" for Thomas? No way. He's gonna be awesome. That's what teams are looking for these days. Really, how many "Bruisers" are there that are huge difference makers? Big Ben? Brand?

And UCLA really sucks. This is truly a pathetic performance.

I remember after Chris Wilcox had a huge tourney for Maryland in 2002, he shot up into the top 10 because of his athletic ability. Never mind that he couldn't shoot. He had a decent year last year, but enough to justify a top 10 pick? No way. Moral of the story - drafting on athletic ability can be high reward, but it also has higher bust potential.

I didn't pick Duke because they shoot too many threes. Live by the three, die by the three. Tonight, Duke died by it, and UCLA is well on their way to dying by it.

i have no problem with teams shooting 3s. IMO id rather watch two teams launching 3s than 2 teams feeding 1 dominant post player

Not me. Teams like Illinois last year and Duke every year, they bore me. Pass around the perimeter until you get a look, or play inside outside and then always launch a three? Boring and too reliant on your outside guys being hot. The thing with teams with strong big guys like Baxter (Maryland), Okafor (UConn) and May (UNC) is that they don't have off nights. You don't need to be that accurate when you're shooting from 4 feet away or dunking on offensive rebounds.

Teams with balance, those I like. And speaking of this, West Virginia might be more reliant on the 3-ball than any team I've ever seen. And they're boring.

i agree that teams with a solid inside presence are a lot more consistant, but i would say that watching balanced teams play each other is probably the best.

I can't stand Sean May basketball of passing the ball down to the fat load and letting him use his mass to back down the defender. That's not basketball that's football without pads.

And I'd be pretty surprised if Williams wasn't drafted in the 1st round, but yeah he'll definitely be a bust.
