Daisuke gets tournament MVP.

Cuba shaking hands with the Japanese is a good image to go out on.

Congrats to Japan -- despite 3 losses, they end up the champs of the first WBC.

Nice showing by Cuba as well -- guess there won't be attempts by the government to keep them out next time.

And the Japanese win the world championship.

Class from the Cubans congratulating them.

Overall, a very strong debut for the WBC, although obviously the format could be altered slightly.

The worst part about this is the most ridiculous quote didn't come from Morgan, but from Jon Miller. Talking about Ichiro, "Because he was the first Japanese position player, he had more pressure on himself to perform than any other player in baseball history."

It also blows my mind how Morgan sat by and let that slide without a peep. Insane.

Korea was the best team in the tourny, followed shortly by cuba, the WBC officials need to find a better format

Yeah, that was pretty bad.

I'm pretty sure Morgan backed that up with a "uh huh."

Good point, I'm shocked Morgan didn't mention Barry Bonds.

Korea had the best record, but no way were they the best team in the tourney in terms of talent. In any event, I'm a happy man.

japan was not the best team, (korea and cuba were both superior)they were fortunate the tourney was set up the way it was.

I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the gyroball in action. After reading about it for the last year it was really exciting to see it work in combination with his other pitches (up to 96 mph fastball).

I found it funny that Joe Morgan called it a "great splitter." I hate that man.

I agree that Japan wasn't the most talented team in the WBC, but I'd rank their talent level over Korea and Cuba. And Cuba also benifited from the tournament's set-up.

I'm happy you got to see them play live. I wasn't drinking when I was watching the game, were you? :P

Korea was the best team in the tournament, hands down. I watched all the games, and nobody dominated on the mound or executed fundamentals like Korea did.
