The Cubs will be fine look how well the Cardinals did last year even with all of the injuries they had. (Rolen,Walker,Sanders) oh, thats right we're talking about the Cubs not the Cardinals. Nevermind, your seasons over.

Haha, not everyone here is in panic mode troll.

So how are we feeling about the WBC now, eh?

Same way I've always felt - It's a joke that proves nothing.

It just cost us our best player for who knows how long. And for what? So we can have a shot at the Dominicans?

I agree. This is madness. I can't believe we are sending our best players to get injured when they aren't even in baseball shape yet. Madness.

I don't normally correct grammar, but it helps to use the right form of the two forms of your and you're.

Also, there should be an apostrophe in that's. And did you really mean seasons as plural? If so, there is no verb there. If not, then you should add an apostrophe. Also, your first sentence is a run-on. A semi-colon is needed between fine and look.

Wow, four major errors is a 38 word post. That might be a record. It seems your lack of baseball knowledge is only matched by your use of the English language.

He slid to catch a foul ball. He didn't dive into a brick wall to make a catch because it was the WBC.

If Lee had been with the Cubs, he would have been playing a lot more innings in the field than he is in the WBC. The only thing the WBC has done for Lee is limit his risk to injury in the field and limit his ABs.

And it's probably not going to be much of a big deal at all.

I'm not so sure that the Cubs spring training camp is the best place to be to avoid fluke injuries / illnesses ...

....this probably isn't the last, or the most serious, injury that will come out of the WBC. I would rather have my best player preparing for the season than sitting around for long periods then trying to go full speed at the WBC.

Maybe if this thing took place in the *middle* of the season every few years it would be better. I thought these players would treat it as an exhibition. It's clear they are going full speed (which is cool to see, but still). This isn't the right time of year for full speed. That's why we have spring training in the first place.

What pisses me off is that the cubs knew back in January that DLee would hurt his shoulder in the WBC but they never let us know about it.

Hey Vance maybe you need to proof what you post. First off you dont start a sentence with the word And.

Also, when you wrote, "wow, four major errors is a 38 word post", doesnt make sense.

He wasn't even going full speed. And the play is just what you'd see in the spring training game. He just landed awkwardly. And since he isn't playing as much in the WBC, his chances of injuring himself would probably be higher if he were in the Cactus League. The WBC actually gives him more time to workout and practice instead of just playing.

Hairston got beaned in the head. McGehee (or was it Moore?) got spiked. Ramirez hurt his finger. These injuries happen. It doesn't have anything to do with the WBC.

Major props to whoever changed DaveW's tagline to Gracie's Girl's "would have Derrek Lee's baby". :D
