Can somebody give me the lowdown? I'm in Ames (Ia.) and I can't get Pat and Ron to come in. Also, none of the major sports websites seem to update their scoreboards very well.

It's not on WGN radio. All MLB webcasts are broadcast through MLB.com audio.

Thanks. I wouldn't have known because I couldn't get the Cubs carrying station to come in at ALL.

This also begs the question, would any of you recommend signing up for MLB.com services? Unfortunately, Mediacom couldn't "come to an agreement" with CSNC in the DM Ames area, thus I am left with only WGN games. I've been thinking about signing up for the online video feeds, but I've often wondered if the value was worth the cost. Any anbd all feedback would be greatl;y appreciated.

The audio package is only $14.95. To me, it's worth that just for ST games.

I'm not sure about MLB.tv as I use EI Extra Innings for my Cubs games in the season.

What an inning! Pagan hits a HR, then we get a Dope-slap, then i get a shout out to State College, PA!

The bad news is this all happened while i was cleaning the bathroom, and i certainly hope that i don't have to start cleaning every time the Cubs are on!

Anyone have Guzman's line? Judging by the score I'd say the threw well, but it'd be even more encouraging if his peripherals were stellar as well.

I believe he pitched two innings, gave up one single, one walk, hit one batter, had one other reach on a catcher's interference, and had one strikeout. He loaded the bases in the second with one out, then K'd the next guy on a good curve and got the 3rd out to bail out. And I believe the walk was on a fairly long AB, not just a ball 1-2-3-4 type AB.

Dusty has talked about wanting Guzman to face some adversity, some bases-loaded situations, and show that he could withstand. Did that fine today.

Nobody reported any details on his mph.

I get the MLB audio every year, usually they offer it free if you suscribe to Sports Illustrated and cancel SI before you get charged.

DIEHARD jacks one out for the A's, 8-3 Cubs

Who's pitching now? He said it was another lefty.

Wallrung and he was Wallrung up by die hard

Pardon my stupidity, but who's DIEHARD?

Scott McClain. He was in the Cubs camp last year and 2 years ago and got the nickname "Die Hard" because of John McClain the character from the movie.

I don't think the announcer has mentioned mph at all this game.

Guzman's walk was on a full count and you're correct re it being an extended at-bat.

Journeyman infielder Scott McClain. Played in Japan for a bit, spent some time in the Cubs minor league system, has seen major league time with Tampa Bay in 1998 and the Cubs near the end of last year.

Die hard also comes from the fact that he is like 33 or something and is a career minor leaguer and he always does well in ST so he is cut late.

There's some sort of seeing-eye single by Doug Clark and then Ginter drives one to the warning track, where it's caught.

2 outs and I *think* runners on 1st & 2nd

Jeremy Brown flies out

8-3 Cubs after 7

Anyone know what pitcher Dope hit the home run off of?

Sorry, I don't, I missed the beginning of the inning.

Matt Roney (sp?) RHP pitching for the a's now

Coats, Neifi single, runners on 1st & 3rd, no outs

E-1 -- ball bounces out to Roney, who tries to backhand it and instead flings it into foul territory, a run scores.

9-3 Cubs

Someone talking about life in the D.R., no comments on the game

Pie bounces into a 4-6 force play, runners at 1st & 3rd, one out

...and I have to go...
