this spring training is almost exciting. the young position players seem to be doing well and the pitching has been outstanding. hopefully it will carry over.

You know, I forgot who said it exactly, but this year's camp, other than the same old Wood and Prior issues, seems different than years past. It just to me, seems more relaxed and things going well. And I thought I agree to that.

I guess that's just my opinion.

Thanks for a great game thread guys .. .just read the whole thing word for word, just like a radio PbP.

Any word on Hairston's condition?

Just checked out a little of your game thread. One thing as a clarification, in case anyone is wondering...

It's dah-PAIR-ik.

I know because he told me.

I generally always try to ask the player how HE pronounces his name. For instance, Jae Kuk Ryu told me it's "ROO." I had heard some people say "YOU."

Also, the OBP thing on our graphics is new this year. I really like having it included.

On Neifi, let's face it, he played great defense and offensively, supplied as much as you could ever ask from him. He doesn't get on base much, but considering he was a backup last year, he did all he could to help the club. Fair enough?

Anyway, good win for the Cubs today. Hope you enjoyed our telecast. It was awesome being back on the air with Bob and our WGN crew.

Best regards,

I certainly enjoyed the broadcast, Len. And don't be afraid to make fun of the guys without shirts on more often, although I believe the camera caught a poorly timed scratch to a certain area.

And I love the OBP on the overlay.

I really wanted to see Pierre play too.

I bet you a nickel Pierre will get into the game by the 4th or 5th inning.

That nickel would have been as good as mine! #-o

Len you should come and give us play by play for one of the many ST games that all you have do is stick your feet up and watch! Bruce Miles did it for us once :D

And please when we play the Cardinals talk about how sexy So is ;)

I don't know if the OBP stuff on TV is new, but Len's into stats and sabermetrics and such. We talk all the time. He's an extremely hard working broadcaster who does his homework every day and gets to the park early.

Did someone know something we didn't? :P

Len: Good broadcast today. If it helps, you and Bob bounced off each other really well today, I can tell you've spent a lot more time together than you had at the beginning of last year.

PS. Feel free to post here often. Don't be a stranger!

After returning home from the circus, I watched the game on TiVo. I haven't read through the thread...but I did catch Len's cameo! Awesome!

Ok...I'm sure this was already touched on...but-->

1. Our pitching has looked phenomenal this year. Marshall impressed me and that third strike curve by Ryu...wow!

2. Pagan is fast.

3. Len and Bob are already in mid-season form.

4. I think Eyre is going to be good. Great control.

5. Dope and Sing look like they both can hit.

Thanks, you're all too kind...we had a lot of fun today and we'll have even more in the regular season. BB is as insightful and hilarious as anyone I've been around in this game.

I'll try to check in now and again...

Having baseball on the tv was very welcome in our home today to say the absolute least. Brenly's comments today were hilarious, especially when he was captioning the conversation between the shirtless guys. I kinda lost track on who was who during the Murton interview though!

Ah, listening to you and Bob was deftinaly a good sign that Cubs baseball is back. It's been a long winter.

Oh, and you guys were funny when you were poking the guys that were shirtless. That was funny.
