"Another team wants me, and that's a good sign," said the hard-throwing Skrmetta, who once led Satellite High to the state finals. "We'll just add another one to the bunch."

The well-traveled Skrmetta will be playing for his 21st team and 10th different major-league organization.

For the past three seasons, he played in Japan, although he sat out a full year after undergoing shoulder surgery.

^^^^^^

in a setup role

....had control issues in a very brief AA stint last season. I'd say that he should be quite a bit stronger this year though...another year removed from the knife. I'm guessing he begins the year with the Jaxx.

Skermy will most likely be a good team guy for the Jaxx or Iowa. Anyone who can keep a sense of humor in the hellhole that are the clubhouses in Nashville is a good guy to keep around. They really appreciate what comes after.

If the Cards signed him, of course he'd put up a WHIP around 1.1 with a sub 3.00 ERA with either 25-30 starts or 60+ appearances out of the pen...

Marc Kroon. Ever heard of this guy? He's playing for Japan right now but he's looking for a contract.

100 MPH fastball, nearly impossible to lift (I don't think he gave up a HR in Colorado Springs), tons of K's.

A nice risk to add to our bullpen.

I'd much rather add depth to our pen like this rather than handing out big contracts. Bullpen is one place you can spend less on.

4.07 ERA / 1.43 WHIP career in the minors? 33 and has only 20 innings of big league experience. Gave up 3 HRs for CO Springs. I don't think so.

Meh. Still worth giving a minor league contract to and inviting him to ST.

The K/9, HR/9, and H/9 are all things I love to see in a reliever, they're all dominant.

A decent pitching coach who could help his control problems could make him a Chris Hammonds, Borowski, a Donnelly, a Turnbrow.

Giving up 3 HR in Colorado Springs is like giving up negative 3 HR anywhere else. If you think Coors is bad...

Who cares, most likely organizational filler to put at Iowa. If he catches fire, all the better.

If I could dig up the line from The Rookie about how "if I didn't report a guy with a 97 mile fastball, i'd be fired", I would add it here
