the media rip session has already started on Comcast. Rightfully so.

As long as it includes Ron Turner's baffling playcalling and Ron Riviera's nonexistent scheme, and does not include second guessing Kyle/Rex, let it commence.

I honestly don't see how one can second guess Rex given his recovery from the first 25 minutes of the game. Yes, he made some really stupid passes, but does anyone expect Orton to have done better?

After this game I'm kind of hoping Riviera leaves. It almost looked like he didn't even really prepare for this game.

That was total crap. Grossman could have snuck in between the b and c gaps and gained 1 yard.

But the defense hosed us today. Tillman got exposed-he sucked all game, and Mike Brown is just soft.

The coaches didn't have them prepared for Smith, blew calls, blew substitutions...

what an unsatisfying end.

It was almost like the coaches didn't even know of Smith. Man, I know all were going to hear from Smith is how good he is.

It's not just that. They never bothered to make adjustments to put two guys on him. How you can possibly justify putting Chris Thompson on him in single coverage is beyond me.

That's like PH Macias with the bags loaded, 2 out in an LCS game. You should know better. And AFTER a timeout, no less!

Also, I hope someone calls out Mike Brown. He missed like 7 weeks and couldn't heal a calf pull.

Turner deserves to get ripped. Grossman threw 41 times! Granted, a lot of that is because the Bears were playing catch up. But it seemed to me, the Bears were throwing early because Carolina wasn't "expecting it".

His opportunities are dwindling unless its St. Louis.

0 runs in their first drive, which included two deep passes. Unbelievable.

The first series was idiotic. Your defense just got owned, take the air out of the ball for a bit. Run. Put a drive together and score, don't chuck the ball downfield twice.

I agree 100%. I like streching the field, I really do, but as US said, put together a good solid driver right there and the dynamic of the game changes there.

Charles Tillman was awful. The Bears really need another CB to compliment Vasher.

Charles Tillman is bad against fast, shifty wideouts. He can cover the Moss type wideouts who are bigger, but not as quick. No idea why Riviera put him on Smith.

In fact, I have no idea why Smith wasn't double teamed from the start. Make DeShaun I'm Soft Foster beat you. What an idiotic game plan bu Chico, who might have kept himself here after today's crapfest.

Lovie Smith's press conference:

-didn't play well enough to win

-offensively, 21pts would have been enough normally

-Rex through well, Berrian did well

-defensively, planned for no big plays

-planned to stop smith but didn't happen

-no excuses, they played better

-planning for next year, looking for plan

-Tillman-more safety help on some of those plays

-3 deep zone on Smith's big plays

-substitution problem not an issue on goalline TD

-had a chance to win at end

He's taken lesson from the Jim Hendry school of speaking while saying nothing.

The Panthers have no other threats from WR, TE's etc. There's no reason not to shade a safety over the top of Smith. Who's gonna beat you Keith Magnum? Give me break.

exactly. I was wondering the whole game why Vasher wasn't on Smith. My friends who I watched the game with, who are big Bears fans, also wondered this too.

after today's game, I really wonder if Chico will get the Rams job.

maybe if they stuck Vasher on Smith, they would've at least limited him.

I understand people are disappointed. But here are some facts.

1. Charles Tillman is a good corner. He had a horrible game.

2. Losing Mike Brown hurt a lot. I like Chris Harris, but something tells me he was supposed to be in position on a couple of those plays. (the simulataneous catch by Smith, the 2nd Smith TD).

3. Rex Grossman had a solid game. Not great, but not sure what more he could have done.

Tillman and the coaching staff lost this game. Horrible gameplan. No adjustments.

What could we get for Peterson in a trade? I like AP, but with Benson in year 2, and TJ he is more valuable as trade bait.

Lovie and his cover 2 has to go. Horrible decision to use a timeout at the end of the first half that allowed Carolina a field goal.

Some early offseason rumors:

The Pro Bowl Corner in Buffalo (I think his name is Clements), has been begging out of town all year.

Chad Johnson may have thrown a punch at Marvin lewsis at halftime of last week's loss. This was reported by Boomer Esisian yesterday.

Broncos want Ricky Williams

I really don't want to sound like I'm defending Lovie Smith here, but as I watched his press conference, it was clear that he really wasn't making excuses. He was just explaining why they lost. Maybe there isn't a big difference but he was trying to be honest.
