At least they'll be better than last year.

The Royals are close to signing Reggie Sanders to a two-year, $10 million contract.

A reasonable signing, though there's still no good reason for the Royals to invest in a 38-year-old outfielder. Sanders has gone to the playoffs five of the six years, but that surely won't happen in Kansas City. Dec. 22 - 1:03 am et

With some health and a little more pitching, they could actually put together 70-75 wins next year. Not bad considering where they just were.

They may be better than the Cubs.

Oh come on. Enough of this crap. You know the 2006 Cubs will be better than 70-75 wins.

What's to discuss? KC's had an offseason leaps and bounds better than ours.

Not a bad signing by the Royals. 2 year deal, while the youngins continue to keep playing at AAA ball.

I wonder if someone here has the contract details.

Why didn't we offer the same contract to Reggie? Surely he would have chosen Chicago over KC, and he's a lot better than Jacque.

I didn't think he was lefty, and Hendry was obsessed with getting a lefty even if he's as good as the kid cut from junior baseball.

I believe he said they "may" be, not "will" be...........

In general, I think this is a very good signing, if Jones set the standard for all these 2nd and 3rd tier OF'ers still out there, Sanders is a bargain compared to Jones.

But, if I'm a KC fan, I'd be upset. I'd rather win 70 games with players coming up from the farm system and have them progress rather than winning 75 games with stop-gaps like Grudzielanek, Sanders, Elarton etc.

We'll hopefully get to see Sisco in their rotation.
