From an email I received this morning from Jamie Newberg...

 

The Rangers have signed righty Sidney Ponson to a Minor League contract with an invitation to big league camp. Ponson is expected to join the Rangers’ camp in Arizona tomorrow.

 

A large human being, Ponson hails from Aruba, had a couple of OK seasons for Baltimore and San Francisco once upon a time, and was originally signed for Baltimore by Jesus “Chu” Halabi, who is currently an international scout for the Rangers .

Yeah, David Wells was my first thought, too.

 

Isn't that fat bastard retired though?

 

He can always be lured out with a case of Natty Light, a carton of smokes, and 32 hot wings from Buffalo Wild Wings.

Is it bad that I don't catch this anymore because so many people do it all the time?

 

Uh oh, now I feel responsible for photoguy getting dumped on. Let me just add that I only mentioned it because I'm sure it was just a typo and that he does know the difference.
