  1. How's his swing look so far Rocket? i have no idea. i just saw it in the box score. it looked pretty darn good on that pitch, but it was also a belt-high changeup right down the middle I was watching that game for a while until I discovered the beauty that is the MLB Game Mix Thanks. I wonder how he looked on the balls in the dirt.
  2. Burnett looked sharp. If he pitches well and the Jays fall back he could be the big trade piece they need to improve their team.
  3. Can't you put a reminder in your blackberry?
  4. No kidding. Lovie plans on using Hester less frequently on returns (and more frequently in passing game), so Davis is going to be "needed" there. This is another mistake, IMO. This ballclub is tanking before our very eyes. I don't think it's a mistake. Returning can take it's toll. And let's not forget that Hester is prone to the dumbdumbs on many returns. He's great, no doubt, but I think he can be just as great while taking a few less kicks, and getting more involved in the passing game. Do the Bears use the short pass to help him get the ball? With your O line and Hesters skills, it seems to make sense.
  5. Here's the explanation for the previous rule: I believe I heard that the rule was put in to protect against poor playing surfaces with the thinking that there's no other reason why a snap under center would not reach the QB's hands. Jeeze, thanks Jon. I never realized that was a rule and assumed it was always a live ball.
  6. There is no monthly charge for the Slingbox. Just the cost of the unit. If you can get to the internet on your laptop, you can access your slingbox. As for the hookup, it's just AV cables like anther AV equipment and an Ethernet cable to hook into your home network (to access your internet connection). So the slingbox is home and your laptop gets its signal and streams the cable for you, correct? Interesting, thanks. I might get one of these things the next time it's on woot. Are there different slingboxes, like HD or are they all the same? http://www.slingmedia.com/ Yes the Slingbox sits at home. The Slingbox and your home internet connection stream the TV signal. Once you connect to the internet with your laptop, you will be able to login into your slingbox and watch/control your TV. Thanks a lot for the info zatar.

  8. How do you like slingbox? I have a slingbox too. I love it. The picture is great. It's hooked into my tivo, so I can watch the games and all my tivo'd shows. The one thing I didn't purchase is the ability to stream to my phone. That is an extra charge. Can you watch cable TV on your laptop from a place around 100 miles away from your home/cable box? Yes. The Slingbox uses your High speed Internet connection to stream your TV. Basically, You are watching your TV over the Web. This year, my friend was working in the UK for 6 months during Bears Season. I gave him the login to my slingbox so he could watch the Bears play from his APT in London. Really...cool. Is there a charge for this or is it just the cost of the slingbox? Also, do you need any other stuff to make it get the signal? Thanks!

  10. They look great - not too big at all. Nice photos. I agree, thanks David.
  11. How do you like slingbox? If the Cubbies are not on TV I get all the info I need from NSBB in the Game Thread. We had some wonderful posters who are nice enough to update the stats and play by play.
  12. As the great Dennis Green once proclaimed, "We know who Theriot was". Theriot is exactly the player he has always been and I can't blame him for the Cubs not improving the SS situation. Either bat him 8th, don't start him or send him down/trade him but I see no reason to dislike the guy because he's the starting SS. Imo, blame the people in charge.
  13. I didn't realize that a direct snap from center that wasn't touched by a QB wasn't a live ball? I don't get it, if he snaps it and no one touches the ball, it can just lay there?
  14. let me know when your flight arrives, we'll tear it up You got it brother.
  15. Cubs' lineup per ESPN 1000: theriot soriano lee ramirez fukudome derosa soto pie lily Same as opening day. I wonder if Lou would ever bat Soto second? Move Fukudome to leadoff and then Soto in the 2 slot.
  16. Night games in early April can be tough.
  17. I'd like to see a game at Iowa sometime but only if Bob is my guide.
  18. Probably called Lute that name you usually get tossed out of a game by umps.
  19. I will wait until the Philly series. Freaking after one game fits the Philly mold as well. When do they go to Philly? They go next Friday, I go Saturday and Sunday. Didn't the Cubs struggle against the Phils last year? Have fun and I'm sure you'll drink lots of water to stay hydrated.
  20. Aren't the bars in the area also profiting from someone else's product? oh come on, you're smarter than that. It depends on how you consider profiting. I'm sure some good lawyer would try to prove this.
  21. Did the catcher go out and try to settle down Prior?
  22. Aren't the bars in the area also profiting from someone else's product?
  23. Let's face it, recruiting at Marquette is not the same as recruiting at Indiana. I think his up tempo play will be attractive to a lot of recruits and he's a solid coach.
  24. So the grass is only 6" inches high this year?
