  1. I wonder what it feels like to be able to run as fast as Reyes. That guy can move.
  2. He must have meant 2 games. Which is good for Gooney since he'll be able to see his 2nd favorite team play his Mets 4 times at Shea. :-" That's what I meant, two games.
  3. What is he for them? He was doing the pregame stuff in the studio.
  4. They're talking to Reed right now. He's saying he's changed his approach and swing a little this year.
  5. The next team would get him. I think the NFL used to ask the first team to wait to make the announcement, but I'm sure they guaranteed them the pick in advance and there was never any concern about losing it. With the new time adjustments, I wouldn't be surprised if the NFL went ahead and announced that pick right away. So they would void the contract then?
  6. Lee Mazzilli is complaining about the Mets only going to Wrigley twice this year. He said it was his favorite stadium and to only get to play there twice stinks. He also added them being ex division rivals, a time long gone.
  7. So Ron Darling is the color guy for the SNY, interesting.
  8. What would happen if the Fins let their time expire and Long was drafted by the next team?
  9. Or......"If they're stupid enough to pay Soriano that much cash imagine how much they'd give me."
  10. I can see him getting picked off of first while daydreaming about the WS.
  11. Thanks for the numbers, soccer - logically I knew that it couldn't be a crazy high percentage, but it did seem like he was always on base to start the game that year. He's still just a mediocre-at-best player when it's all said and done. Still, having a guy leadoff the game with an OBP like that certainly is nice. It is, but it's not nice that your table setter has a below average OBP the rest of the way. True. The first inning is a nice tone setter though and getting that first score is a good thing, along with the leadoff guy on in that inning. I wonder what the Sox record was when he scored in the first and what it was when he didn't. What the hell, my boss is off today, here goes: 19-6 is what I came up with, though my counting skills may have been off. I'm not sure how much different that is compared to the records of any team who scores in the first. Not willing to go through those numbers. Probably not and thanks. Playing 760 ball certainly is nice.

  14. I remember when the late 90's Yankees were dominant, this was a big reason why. The Cubs have one of, if not the best offenses in the league when they are this patient. I agree. The saying is that speed doesn't slump but imo having batters that have a clue and work a count never really slump. If you can get 8 guys in the lineup doing this, it can be a wonderful thing.
  15. Then add Hill to the trade then! :this:
  16. I think he knows it was Baker and not the franchise that did it.
  17. I'll bet you all that Dusty is thinking if they hit like that when he was there he'd still be in Chicago and winning.
  18. How could Edmonds not be able to back up second since he plays 10 steps away from it?
  19. Is their pen that horrible that he couldn't use someone else for 1 day? It's not awful. David Riske shoulda been there to close it out. They have 9 guys down there, and he was planning on using the same guy, with an injury history, 5 games in a row. This after watching him pitch terribly in the 4th game. Crazy. He thinks a little outside of the box batting Kendall 9th and then does things like this.
  20. Chucker.

  22. I don't mind watching Bonds fad away into oblivion.
  23. I dig the dude. He gives the Cubs a different type of hitter and helps keep opposing pitchers from getting into a comfort groove.
  24. Cedeno is getting a lot of reps at 2nd too so that little 3 man rotation Lou has with those two and Fontenot is working out ok so far. He can just plug in DeRosa when a lefty is in and put Murton in left. I like the decent options so far and it will be interesting to see which players can keep up this pace, or at least sustain an above average one.
