  1. I want to see that first baseman pick that ball up again.
  2. Oh well...I'm still pure, they are no longer on. Nope. Even if it only lasts a minute, it still counts. I'm still going to wear white at the Cub games!

  4. Last year, Jason Kendall, Ryan Therito, Cliff Floyd/Jacque Jones were everyday starters for a contending team. If Soriano, Aram, DLee, Fukudome, Soto and DeRo hit like they are capable of then you can live with a starting CF learning the ropes playing great defense. Theriot on the other hand doesnt bring defense or offense to the table, but the Cubs could still be contenders with both of them in the lineup. However, an upgrade at SS would make things much much easier, while letting the organizations top prospect play defense and provide what offense he can. Pie has shown an uncanny ability to make adjustments at every level hes been on when hes been given a chance to fight thru his struggles, and Im praying the Cubs are patient enough to let him see if he can make the adjustments at this level. OK, so you agree with me. Thanks. No, it looks like he disagrees, since he said they can be contenders with both in the lineup. All he said is that an upgrade of SS would make it easier. Oh, ok, so we can be contenders with both in the NL Central, which, to quote a phrase that is real popular around here, "is like being the tallest midget". The NL Central may be better than many of us previously thought.
  5. The NHL has never had a fix in regarding that. They have had some of the worst matchups possible for the Stanley Finals TV wise. It wouldnt be a fix. It would be calling the game like they do during the regular season and letting the best players play. True but refs get pretty funky once the playoffs start. I hope they do call it close.
  6. I understand we're "playing the percentages" here, but how the hell is Pie supposed to learn to hit lefties if he never faces them? Seems pretty counter-intuitive to me. He has to have some success against righties first is what I'm guessing Lou thinks. If he's struggling against righties, he's really going to struggle seeing the ball against lefties. What were his splits in the minors?
  7. I am hoping they only use Marmol if it's a one-run game, or a situation where the current batter can tie/win the game. I'm ok with the Cubs using anyone else in a more manageable game. Heck, I have more faith in Wuertz right now than Howry. Get Wuertz and Pignatiello some time. Darn, I forgot about Weurtz. Yeah, that's what I would do too.
  8. I put Howry out there. It shows a little faith in him and might get his confidence back up along with his mechanics. I'd rather not use Marmol again. Hopefully the Cubs score a bunch of runs and we don't have to worry about this.
  9. He's been playing OF here. They signed the other guy that plays SS to a multi year deal so that pushed Adams out. I thought Adams was going to be a decent SS but he never really showed it up with the Jays.
  10. #31 Pinpoint control Cy Winner Always took the ball Hurt when you left Could never root against you Happy to see you back Hope you both go to the Hall as a Cub
  11. I hope you're right but imo it's going to be a battle.

  13. If Lee does hit well that would be wonderful. It would be nice if he had somebody on base...hint Fuku...hint... in front of him though.
  14. When does the current player contract end?
  15. Get past that first round Wings! Every round is going to be a battle and I hope they don't allow the clutch and grab as much this year.
  16. I don't know but in Syracuse (their AAA team) we just went back to grass after the Jays pushed us to get turf previously. I think it would be a possibility they might and I hope they do. The Sky Dome is the home of my only Cub win!
  17. He was the SS for the future for the Jays and they slid him over to 2B. He has the potential to hit 15 out every year and he's a decent defensive player.
  18. One goes with the other. If he is ahead in the count he no longer will be fighting a hitters count and he'll give up less HR's.
  19. Maybe you guys should have different fantasies.
  20. BUT AT LEAST IT COMES COMPLETE WITH A TOWEL TO THROW LMAO AMIRITE Sa nap!
  21. Wasn't Hampton a heck of a hitter? I surprised no one has put him in the OF or as O_O said, Ankeled him.
  22. Yes but the Brewers magic number remains at 160.
  23. Is he wearing a cape or dare I say...is it really the famous towel we have all heard of?
