  1. As a matter of fact most of the viewers didn't understand why this former HS phenom/current NBA star was talking about baseball instead of basketball. Based on the half segment that I saw, Morely Safer didn't understand any of it. "Explain this to me like I'm a 4 year old."

  3. Would they play 2 tomorrow if this game is canceled?
  4. IU ought to go after Pat Summit.
  5. Yeah by going to a small school he really was able to be the focus of the team and then having a tournament like this he might sneak into the lottery. How tall is he? He looked short to me, around 6' 1" or so.
  6. it's hard to convince someone to coach your team with sanctions likely forthcoming, even at a school like iu. Yeah, I think it'll have to be a younger guy that is going to wait out the sanctions and then move forward.
  7. Yes, but we would have had depth without moving Dempster to the rotation or signing Lieber. We still would have had Gallagher, Hart, and Marshall for the last spot I think Hendry was going to move 1 or 2 of the young guys for Roberts and a righty CF so that's why he did that imo.
  8. So it could get better?
  9. How often did he sit the bench as a Cub?
  10. I'd love to see him have a good year but after watching him I wonder if he'll struggle. It may be an injury or he's going to slow down bat speed wise and I'd be really surprised if he hits over 25 HR's this year. I know he came on strong last year but something in his swing just bugs me this year. Yes, it's early I know but I just can't get this uncomfortable feeling I have about him out of my head this spring. I hope I'm wrong. 280/365 and 24 HR's
  11. I think the refs left the Memphis/Texas game.
  12. Actually all players that their last name starts with an M.
  13. http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/7955898/Questions-pick-up-as-spring-winds-down Volquez's updated spring line: 20 IP 26 K 4 BB 2.70 ERA And they prove why they haven't a clue. It would be one thing talent for talent but when you need pitching and you have a guy like that, that just isn't a smart trade for the Rangers.
  14. Corey Maggette got one for that once Is that the one where he pulled himself up on the rim and slapped the backboard? I remember him doing that in a game. The one Roberts did against Vermont was the same exact dunk he did his whole career here. The Meggette one was a T if that's what he did.
  15. Wood is a talented pitcher who has had injury problems. Who really cares what this Sherman guy wrote, honestly?
  16. Corey Maggette got one for that once With a minute left though? That still makes me angry.....as you can tell. I hate it when refs throw out random calls like that.
  17. So Hendry took off his shoes and said, this little Piggy went to Chicago...congrats Piggy for making the big team! Keep your chin up Mr. Marshall because I'm sure a spot in the rotation will be opening soon.
  18. Quinn Snyder is still available.
  19. It's a home game for Texas and if they get a run things could change pretty quickly.
  20. Some of these guys are hanging on to the rim pretty long. I suppose it was just us that gets called for a T with 1 minute left in a close NCAA for doing so and I haven't seen a T called once before or after for hanging.
  21. It's gotta be the shoes.
  22. Northwestern, please. That would be all kinds of awesome. The only way that would happen (and there is a long list of reasons why it won't) is if he'd come in after next season. Henry Bienen, current president and longtime friend of Carmody, has already said Bill will be back next season. The department can't afford the buyout, anyways. Of course, it will probably take a significant improvement in order for Carmody to get an extension. Bienen will be retiring after the 2008-2009 school year and Phillips is taking over as AD next month, so it will be up to Phillips...and the new President, along with Pat Ryan, as to how much money they're willing to spend. Northwestern is the ultimate ego job, though. There have been some big name coaches throughout the years who have said that they'd love to have a chance to coach at Northwestern and win here. Of course, the guys who have said it, like Jimmy V., have always left the stipulation that they'd need 1 academic exception a year. That won't happen. Of course, Knight wouldn't need it. You guys have a great womans lacrosse team, that should be enough.
  23. What was the original title of the thread? something like heard an interesting rumor- Brian Roberts The original title - Finally a Decent Rumor (Brian Roberts) Actually the original title said Abner invents new game that is similar to cricket.
  24. I thought we should have a thread about this topic here and let the madness have it's own thread.
  25. Isiah Thomas or Jim Harrick to IU?? =P~ There's a lot of talk that Tony Bennett is the favorite for IU. There is also a LOT of Pitino to IU chatter, as well. While I don't really believe that Rick Pitino will end up at Indiana, that certainly has been the majority of the scuttlebutt over the past week or so here. I can say that IU's administration not only seems adamant on a big name type coach, but some seem very proud of themselves as if it's just a matter of time. I have concerns because I don't believe them, nor do I trust their opinion of what constitutes a "big name." I like Tony Bennett a lot. Isiah Thomas is a big name. While I'm not concerned about Thomas actually getting the job, I'm still concerned about this big name obsession. Because, you're right, Thomas is certainly a big name. Someone was on ESPN (NBA analyst) said that Thomas just sat on the bench the whole game and has basically quit. I wouldn't want a guy like that near my school no matter what the name is. Plus the guy ruined two NBA franchises and the entrie CBA. He was a hell of a player, but is horrible at running a team or program. Add to that the sexual harassment which is worse than a few phone calls.
