  1. As he does it to another kid! I suppose Ben Franklin was right about insanity. I think Dusty might be giving Patterson a chance to get back on track and if he does struggle, the Reds will release him and call up the Bruce.

  3. How many times does a conference that is proclaimed the worst like the Big 10 is, do well in the NCAA's? The matchups in these things is so huge and the ten ain't doing too bad so far.
  4. I have Butler taking them out.
  5. "Did you eat paint chips when you were a kid?" Honestly, Dusty just amazes me. I truly think he is one of the laziest managers in history, work wise and thinking wise. You misspelled dumbest. Honestly, I don't think he is dumb but I get what you're saying. Now watch the Reds win the division.
  6. "Hit hard" "Mediocre effort" "luckless" Ringing endorsements if I've ever heard them. Full steam ahead, never mind the icebergs! I understand that he has had an injured past and it does make me a little concerned. What I'd hate to see is Wood overcompensating for his back and hurting his arm or shoulder.
  7. I really labored over the Drake/WK game.
  8. They already got Pudge 2.0 in Paul Bako. No real need for him now Imagine grouping those two together? Dustnasty.

  10. Exactly. They contacted Hendry, not the other way around. If they want bullpen help, we can help them with that. If they need some salary relief to go along with bullpen help, we can help them with that as well. The salary relief allows them to spend even more to fix their pen. But, if Renteria is untouchable to Detroit, there's really nothing more to talk about. "Good luck, I hope you find the bullpen help you need from someone else." Darn....it's too bad the Cubs didn't have a talent like Perez to shop to the Tigers! Hendry better hope Theriot plays as well as he thinks he's going too because leaning on Soto and possibly Pie as well worries me quite a bit. This really worries me too; counting on Therior is going to wind up being a big mistake, IMO. Combined w/ yet unproven players in Soto & Pie...well, the bottom half of the order (except for Theriot who it appears will be batting in the 2-spot for some ungodly reason) could be brutal. I'm guessing the Cubs will struggle to score runs, barring a couple trades. I really hope the young guys step up and if you add Soriano and his possible injury problems, this could be a tough year offensively.
  11. I have Tenn, Gonzg, Drake and St. Marys.
  12. We also stopped using lead paint in 1978, I wonder if Dusty thinks we should go back to using it?
  13. We have Gonzaga and Davidson here.
  14. Excellent! =D> His plan appears to be swing and swing often. Walks clog the bases, dude. :good: I heart Dusty.
  15. With all the bullpen guys (Not that good though) the Reds have, it would be a match made in heaven for Dusty to get Pudge.
  16. Would Marquis work to rid the salary thing and the Tigers push another starter to the pen?

  18. "Hello lady friend!" Jerry Lewis (Cinderfella)
  19. Have you seen their bullpen? They will lose a lot of games late due to the lack of any quality relief. The one thing they can afford to part with is offense. Inge has been on the market all offseason and no one wants him. Teams need 3b's out there, but they aren't willing to spend talent and the contract money necessary to take on Inge or Crede. If Detroit wants relief help, it will cost them their SS, otherwise I'd tell them to keep looking. We could happily send them a SS back in exchange if that really left them without a SS. Why would they trade their SS? Because when they traded for their SS, they did it before they knew they were getting Cabrera, Willis and Jacque Jones. Had the Tigers traded for Cabrera and Willis first, they probably would have spent more effort improving the pen instead of trading Omar Infante for Jacque Jones and farm talent to Atlanta for Renteria. Renteria isn't a difference maker for this offense. They will score enough runs to win games with or without Renteria. Renteria cannot pitch the 7th, 8th or 9th inning, however, which very well could be Detroit's undoing. I could see this as possibly being a bigger trade involving more than Renteria/Marmol but I'd be shocked if they dealt him. I see what you're saying and a Renteria + someone for Marmol/Theriot and a young arm might work for both teams.
  20. I agree with that but it may depend on matching up the platoon guy for Pie. I do not see the Cubs leaving him in there against lefties and I don't see Fukedome sliding from right to center because of it. Fukedome is fine with center and if Pie does prove to handle hitting at the MLB level, they may switch positions then. You are right, Pie isn't a RF or may not be comfortable there and if they put him there, it'll be another thing he has to adjust too along with trying to hit MLB pitchers. Ok...maybe this move won't work but I was looking for a way to keep Murton's bat in the lineup and getting the most production possible. I just see Hendry getting some cruddy vet to platoon with Pie and being an auto out. Who is Fukedome? Is he pals with Meddenhall? Good stuff.
  21. I agree 100% he should call but I see no reason why the Tigers would trade him.
  22. Opps...not Vitters but the other good young guy the Reds have!
  23. Why would the Tigers want to give up their starting SS? Hendry missed this one and there is no second chance unless the Tigers completely fall apart.
  24. In a heartbeat! It's a lovebeat. I really wish Hendry (at least I think he didn't) made a move for him in the winter before the Tigers did.
  25. 14-2 missing on BYU and Winthrop.
