  1. DOA - Bloodrock
  2. do you actually know something, or are you just adding fuel to the fire? Brian Roberts has been scratched from Tuesday's game because of a sore back. Every move Roberts makes at this point is met with trade speculation, but this injury sounds legitimate. The Baltimore Sun reports that "Roberts' back flared up and he received an injection to ease the pain," noting that he's expected to miss two games. So he has a back injury? That should attract Hendry to him even more!
  3. Would they call your boy or would they tell him face to face he's been traded?
  4. True...very true. How has Miggy hit this spring?
  5. I wonder if Fukudome asked Lou to put him 5th? Maybe he really didn't want to bat 2nd and Lou put him down there instead.
  6. I was listening to Mike and Mike and somebody...Gammons or one of the other baseball guys was talking about how good he looked. Funny, if Sammy did that they would have said he was off steroids.
  7. If Cedeno falters, replace him with somebody else next year, and keep Theriot on the bench. I wonder if Cedeno is doing something/not doing something that really angers Lou. I've read a few times where they were disappointed in his work ethic and other things he's done that are not something you do when you're a young guy trying to make a team. Plus, he's a bonehead on the bases. I'm thinking he doesn't catch the damn ball Has he been misplaying the ball this spring?
  8. He's also a good bet to eventually implode with disaster start after disaster start. And he's guaranteed big money this year and next. I want him traded ASAP. But I can live with him in the rotation right now, assuming he does maintain that halfway decentness. The problem is if he is pitching well the Cubs will keep him around until he does implode. If they actually traded when he was pitching well they could possibly get something decent out of this along with possibly not paying a big part of his contract. If he stinks up the joint right out of the shoot, it's going to cost the Cubs some big money to move him.

  10. I clap for the wolfman.
  11. Make it sheetrock because a brick one will really hurt. I'm not going to jump to any conclusions until the season starts to develop. I think the bad players will start to weed them selves out and be replaced.
  12. Is it possible the O's want Theriot and that's what's holding up this blockbuster of a thread....I mean trade? What's holding up the deal is that the O's don't know what they want, they just know it always needs to be "more." This is also why they suck at baseball. More more more...how do you like me how do you like me. So what you're saying is that the O's are like Disco. Deep. :stickman:

  14. I certainly hope not. Roberts has been historically terrible at the end of the season. If the Cubs traded for him now, they would try to counteract him wearing down by resting him more and giving DeRosa at-bats. If the deal doesn't happen until the trade deadline though, the Orioles aren't going to be resting one of their few marketable players very often. Basically, because of his history, I don't care how Roberts is hitting at the All-Star Break. If he is still with the Orioles at that time, I don't want him until at least next winter. Do you think that might be because the O's are out of the playoffs and he losses focus?
  15. Jeepers Alexander, stop forcing your shots so much
  16. There it is - "be a man." Maybe my favorite cliche of any on this Board. Seems the list of Cubs that aren't manly never stops growing. Ugh. I think he meant "be a man" in the "be an adult" sense, not "be a tough guy." Yep. Communicate and have the guts to talk to your manager. Going through the press is like having your mommy or daddy solve your problems. How can you be sure that he hasn't? Maybe he has and that's why answering a question when asked is not a big deal. That's possible. I just get annoyed when they go through the press first instead of talking to the manager.

  18. If you're upset, talk to Lou or Hendry, not the press. Be a man and grow up.
  19. Drake too. I suppose you have to give the teams that are leading credit for taking control of those games.
  20. Zags and Davidson tied at 62.
  21. I always like to see good interior passing. Pitt always does it very well.
  22. "Hit hard" "Mediocre effort" "luckless" Ringing endorsements if I've ever heard them. Full steam ahead, never mind the icebergs! This is one of the dumbest things I've read on here in a long time, which is actually somewhat impressive. I've seen worse. Heck, I've posted worse! I admit, I'd like to see Woody have a year or 2 injury free myself. I agree that whatever the AP writes you take with a grain of salt though.
  23. Stupid Miami is winning by 4. UT is now up by 8.
  24. Tennessee comes to America..TODAY! This is a fun game and I'm glad CBS switched to it.
