    Not saying he has great range, but (with Todd) we're talking about replacing a player (I like him but..) who might have the WORST range at 2b in all of baseball. Miller's not that bad...is he??? Are you buying the company line of how terrible Walker supposedly is at defense? Have you ever seen Jeff Kent out there? Didn't Kent win a Golden Globe while with the Giants?

    Burnitz can give you .280/.355/.470? He hasn't done that outside of Coors this millenium. The Cubs should have platooned Burnitz with another bat. I'll never understand why the guy had to play every game. That's easy. He is a proven veteran and had a big contract. You don't sit proven veterans who are used to starting everyday and make a lot of money. Maybe if Hendry doesn't get an impact bat for right that might end up working in our favor...the letting go of Johnnie B.

    I think he slept with Ryno's wife. It could be that or maybe something else that the Cubs know about that we don't. Steroids are another possibility....I'm not saying he did do them but how are we to know. Given the Cubs moves the last year or so, I think incompetence is much more likely than steroids. I'm delusional, that's how I keep my sanity.

    Indeed, I never would've guessed my Buccaneers allegiance would've saved me here. So, when (if) Patterson is gone, are you changing your screen name? Probably, I've thought about changing it before, so that may signal time for a change. Just change the C to an E. :D

    When Hudson was in Syracuse I saw him play SS once and he did a capable job. He would be a decent middle guy that the Cubs could trust in case of an injury to Cedeno or Perez as Walker is one dimentional defensively. If the Cubs do keep Walker, has he ever played 3rd to give ARam some rest?

    What really will be enjoyable will be the days that Neifi and Mabry start for Cedeno and Murton. See...it could always get worse!

    Why would teams care that he's interested in Jones? If Hendry is in talks about a deal with a team and it's going nowhere maybe looking at Jones might get them to give him what he wants or come back to the bargining table.

    If it does come down to plan Z you won't be the only one upset. This is my make or break season with Mr. Hendry and he had the money and resources to make this a better team and he better do it.

    And end up with you know who playing 2nd if Walker is moved in another deal. :shock: Perez is going to start unless the Cubs get 2 solid middle infielders.

    Those darn computers, and their favoritism :wink: I think looking just at a teams win/loss record is not the best way to evaluate a team. Like I said earlier, if your reasoning were used, it would be Oregon v TCU in a bowl game. I am not going to get into this whole Oregon getting the shaft thing. It is in nearly every weeks football thread. However I don't think that a top 4 team from a BCS conference, and top 6 team from a non-BCS conference is outdated. In fact the top 6 rule is fairly new, in order to assure that teams that don't play in a major conference get a chance. And do you think Oregon would really beat, PSU, OSU, Texas, LSU, Miami, V Tech, Georgia, Michigan, USC, or countless other team from any of the conferences you mentioned. I find that a little hard to believe. Because of the BCS we will never know how Oregon would have done. I also think that this arguement will happen even if there is a playoff as the 5th, 9th or 17th team that isn't picked will feel left out.
