  1. The O's have Roberts so I don't se the need for Walker unless Roberts can slide into the SS position.
  2. I just don't see how getting Manny would make Baltimore better or let me reword that ....competitive in the AL East. I just think it would be a waste of resources for the O's to go in that direction.
  3. What in the earth is SoSh? Sons of Sam Hahn-Red Soaks message bard Thanks. Could Boston put together a package better than the Cubs and would the O's want to trade within their division?
  4. I think the Cubs should talk to Miggy about just that before/if the deal goes through.
  5. ARam is better than Nomar and Mora combined. If it's true that Ramirez has been working on his stretching exercises that would be wonderful....and not the Bonds type of stretching.
  6. I thought that but each has kind of gone in a different direction.
  7. How about Edmonds for Manny?
  8. While you're dreaming BbB why not send them a manager too? I'd settle for swapping pitching coaches. Jeeze....I forgot Leo went to Baltimore. Let's see him do wonders for Hill and Williams. As long as said wonders are in the AL, and Miggy performs, I could care less what we send out of the minors. :D Aye captain. I wonder if the Cubs can make the O's swear that Miggy has never tested positive for roids. Are there any precations the Cubs can take in that regard?

  10. I'll always have a place for you in my heart McClain. Yippie Kie eh you're an A.

  12. He'd be gone if that were true.
  13. Yes Hendry did overpay for Pierre but at least now he can concentrate on Tejada instead of focusing on a leadoff hitter. I would have rather had Bradley lead off and saved some prospects and then used the pitchers you mentioned in a deal for Miggy.
  14. Personally I think it's foolish to compete with things like that. If you do your job correctly things will take care of themselves.
  15. If Angelos is foolish enough to compete with a team in the National league instead of his own division he should sell the team. He should have re-signed Ryan in the first place if he wanted to show the Wash/Balt area he wanted to win. I believe Angelos is that foolish. Since the Nats got there he has been complaining about them stealing his fans and his revenues. You honestly think he will risk alienating the fans he has by trading away Tejada? Angelos is one of the worst owners in baseball, if not the worst. True....Angelos is that foolish. Maybe he'll take a trip to Europe for the Holiday season and the GM can do his job the right way. :rendeer:

  17. I think it was Gooney that first reported that. :D It really makes sense that the O's want to start getting younger IMO. Even if they get Prior for Tejada they will still stink and not compete. I wonder if the the O's are considering getting real young and treating 2006 as a rebuilding year. It might be a good idea for them, and an O's fire sale would be fun for everyone else. They have IMO and even if they get Manny...again they won't compete in the East. They need to build some youth and young pitching would be perfect for them to get started. And yes, a Baltimore fire sale would be a blast. I don't see them trading Roberts though.
  18. I would like to see Texas put some pressure on that USC QB and not let him stand there all day and wait for a receiver get open....much like LSU did to Oklahoma and White.
  19. Welcome to the board! I think he would be a very nice choice to be a 3/4th OF type for the Cubs along with a backup 1st baseman.

  21. I'd like to Hairston back as well, but as w/Corey, you have to factor cost as well as Hairston maybe having some trade value to a team looking for a cheap 2B (see STL). Ideally, I hope he's back in that role. I think it would spend on how much the Cubs spend for right field. If they go cheap they could have Patterson and Hairston on the bench.
  22. Baker really does change almost every scenario the Cubs could have. That's why it's so suprising to me that Sabean got rid of Baker. SF seems to have gotten older after Baker left and I would have thought it would been the other way around. Dustyproofing a team just makes Cubs baseball a little less enjoyable.
  23. I'd be shocked if Perez isn't starting over Cedeno. Plus, add Murton to the "Young guy list" and Baker might have a stroke playing two young guys like that.
  24. This is why Tejada is so important to get. Why trade for an average RF with good prospects when you can get Very good RF production out of a SS? I can't imagine having Jones or the like and Perez in the same everyday lineup. I would like a lot of options out there as we have mentioned many times and since RF seems to be so to find for this team, I wouldn't feel to bad about using Murton in a trade for an impact RF like Abreu.
