  1. 8 total walks in April (5 BB, 3 IBB) ZERO total BBs in May through yesterday. Also, he batted .303 in April; batting .263 in May through yesterday. Wonder if there's a connection.
  2. Matheny doesn't recognize it, but it's the best move for the Cards. As mentioned above, he could be a force in the bullpen.
  3. All that effort, for what in the end?? Am I talking the Dukesters thread opener? Or the Cubs so often this season??
  4. Schizophrenic offense roars it’s ugly head once again.
  5. I really hate the way Almora catches routine fly balls. Much like I hated the way Dex did the same.
  6. Kinda crazy to play an away day game after a home night game in a later time zone. I know it’s not a long flight to a Pittsburgh, but really?!?! I’m sure the bats will be on fire tomorrow.
  7. Today’s game really doesn’t matter, nor do the games these first few months. Apparently the Cubs will eventually win a lot and the VBs will eventually lose a lot. And the Cubs will skate to the division title. That’s what the numbers say, right?
  8. So if I'm reading between the lines, Holland goes 6 and gives up 1 run; Cubs lose 5-1? Why am I not surprised by the Cubs’ offensive output (accent on the second syllable)?
  9. Three kids ain’t the issue. It’s three moms that is unfortunate. But who am I to judge. Maybe he can be a great dad to each..
  10. Forgot about NTC, but my questions were mostly hypothetical. And I don't believe Tim was serious.
  11. So if I'm reading between the lines, Holland goes 6 and gives up 1 run; Cubs lose 5-1?
  12. West coast night games.
  13. So let's say Baltimore were to take most/all of Heyward's contract (and his weak pop outs to the SS behind 3B)....how much more in layer compensation would the Cubs need to come up with? For instance, if Addy, Monty and Alzolay is a huge overpay straight up...is it a huge overpay if they took all/most of Heyward's contract with those three? And would that make Machado as a rental much more appealing knowing it frees up tons of years/cash, most likely for Harper? I'm not relly good with the contract/$$$ stuff. Thoughts?
  14. Dude likes to bone. If I'm Addy (and aren't currently busy with my d!ck in someone), I tell me agent to get me an extension. Forgo any possible FA and just sign a multiyear deal for several million. Dude is gonna need lots of skoots for child support.
  15. Can’t decide if which theme to go with: Cubs were basically shut out yesterday, not counting the 9th inning tater by Ian “don’t call me Albert Fish” Happ, so they’ll end up raking tonight for a baker’s dozen; or They get silenced by an unknown. Hmmmm, decisions, decisions, decisions.
  16. Man is Greg Holland trash. Cards down 3-1 to Royals in top of 9th. Holland comes in and promptly gives up two singles, then a walk, then a Chief Justice 2-run single. YANKED, and still nobody out, 5-1, men on first and second. \:D/ Oh, and his ERA went up from 7.30 to 8.76. :D
  17. Yes, you’re pissing on your hands
  18. I’ve accidentally pissed on my hands a few times, and yet my skin is still velvety smooth. Am I doing something wrong??
  19. Do two wins in a row constitute a "win streak"? I don't think so. Especially when they should have swept Cincy. After all, if the VBs can do it, why can't the cubs. Well, because their not the VBs. Embrace the suck.
  20. A BIG “thank you” to Raisin for posting the video of Game 7. It’s really made for some interesting banter/recollections from that historic day. But the more I think about it, an even BIGGER thanks to me. After all, it was me who decided to post a non-game thread start on a day off. Had I not done this, does Raisin even post the video? Are we reminiscing the last 24 hours of he highs and lows? Do we get to relive the agony and the ecstasy? And let’s not even bring up the Kipnis....never mind. Anyway, in a word - Brilliant! But if we really want to drill down on the matter, we really owe all of this to Sammy Sofa. I mean, this thread absolutely does NOT exist if that guy (don’t know “him” so I’m making an assumption) can figure out a game thread started the day before a game versus threads started on gameday. I mean, it’s a mistake that can happen to anyone, right (even though it’s only happened to him in the dozen or so years I’ve been coming here)? So hats off to Sammy for inspiring the last day and a half of inspiring Cubs 2016 World Series banter,
