  1. Is Happ stranding Nico on second better for his stats than him stranding Nico on first?
  2. Maybe he has a hot streak(s) to close out the year. Maybe he doesn't. But maybe, just maybe, he be taken out of the middle of the order until he shows some continued success and/or way less Ks.
  3. 2 games is hardly a "mini streak".
  4. This game has provided nothing, until this…
  5. Craig is in love with the L-R-L-R batting order, and Happ being a switchbatter makes him appealing in the middle of the order (to Craig, anyway). I would give him the ol' Dansby treatment and drop him to 8th or 9th.
  6. Mark Tauscher (4), Ryan Grant (1), Jermichael Finley (5), Nick Barnett (4), and Brad Jones (6) would disagree with your assessment. The number of games started before injury are in parenthesis. I don't know what the definition of "front end talent" is exactly, but all of them were starters. Finley was definitely a rising star in the making IMO.
  7. Franklin got his first MLB hit (in 8 ABs so far). He doubled in the 9th inning with the O's losing 2-1. Great throw and relay to get the runner out at home. Would've tied the game, but the O's end up losing.
  8. Bateman was 1-2, 2 BB, with a run scored, starting in CF. Hit came off of Wheeler, as did his first BB.
  9. Wouldn't it be better to let Happ play LF (with a DH) and let the pitcher hit?
  10. Parsons will be put on PUP today or tomorrow. Apparently, it was some sort of procedural thing.
  11. Skenes gives up 2 or less ER in 75% of his starts this season. He's also pitched less than 6 innings in half his starts, including 7 of his last 12.
  12. Poor fella was put on the IL with a ruptured nut! 🫣
  13. Was so excited for the second half of the season to start yesterday evening. And then the first 2 1/2 innings happened. I turned the game off before Jeffers reached second base. I don't see this offense doing much against Bradley today. Hopefully Boyd can hold the Twins to a run or less.
  14. Might be the worst challenge of a strike I've ever seen.
  15. Cubs pitchers have allowed at least one opposing player to reach base in 17 of the last 19 innings.
  16. Not understanding why 3B threw home after the forceout at third base. Guess it's a shorter throw than to 1B (although Vaughn is very slow). Glad the Bucs pulled it out though.
  17. Cubs, overall, have good numbers against Lodolo. Reds, overall, do not have good numbers against Assad. Probably means nothing. Because Cubs.
  18. Was being cute as the thread title is "Hypothetical thread.....". Not really hypothetical at all. This is an actual thread. 😀
