  1. How do I get photos from my phone to this website? Can I just copy/paste it into a message?
  2. So pitchers and catchers report in less than a week. And then the position players a few days after that. I've lived in southern AZ for the past 6+ years but have not had the opportunity to go to Mesa to see the Cubs practice (before the spring schedule begins). I am going to make a concerted effort to drive up once or twice before their first game and go to the practice fields. Anyone ever watch them practice? Tips?
  3. ^^^ I believe that's why they're trying Bote, errr, Shaw in the OF.
  4. Todd Monken is the next "former HC" of the Browns.
  5. I forgot about Long. But I'm actually not advocating for Shaw to be counted on to play 1B with any regularity. I think, given his defensive athleticism, it might be a bad idea for him to have a "broken in" 1B glove. Like you said, there's probably not a lot of harm in letting him try in the spring.
  6. I'm willing to give Shaw another (full) season to see if he's more than a utility guy. The offensive strides he made from the first half to the second were tremendous for a first-year player. And he was supposed to be an average, maybe even below-average fielder going into last season. He's clearly a plus fielder, near GG caliber. That said, I love Noco and would like the Cubs to extend him. And I'd rather wait to see what improvements at the plate Shaw might have.
  7. He's listed at 5' 10". Busch is 2 inches taller. I wouldn't want to play Shaw at 1B with any consistency, but having some experience there could help. He certainly seems athletic enough. Again, looks like right now, Austin is the RH backup.
  8. So about Matt Shaw and taking reps in the outfield. What about him taking some reps at 1B? He's athletic enough. He's 5' 10", so a bit on the short side. But if he hits, it would give the Cubs another option at 1B against LHP. Looks like right now, they're relying on Austin.
  9. I would like to see improvements in Shaw's game this season. Hopefully, he has the ability to play the OF competently, as it would also allow him to get more ABs. I think at this point, the Cubs view him as the heir to Nico.
  10. Acuna is the brother of Braves Ronald. Has minimal MLB experience. Pauley was a 12th round selection this past year from Harvard.
  11. As mentioned in my previous post, Hafley coached the Packers defense in 2024, the year before Parsons, and the defense was greatly improved from previous years (Joe Barry was a disaster). They were a top 10 team in many defensive metrics (points allowed, yards allowed, TOs, drives ending in scores %, etc). Don't know how he'll be as a HC, but he seemed to be a really good DC.
  12. I'm not really certain how he'll do. A lot, like any HC in the NFL, will depend on the personnel he has to work with. I'm not a "press conference watcher", so I don't have much insight from the in-season midweek assistants' pressers. But he did take over a pretty floundering defense over the previous several years and had them playing at a high level in 2025. And that was before they acquired Parsons. Yhe defense was even better this season....until the Parsons injury. And that seemed to torpedo not just the defense, but the season as a whole.
  13. Jon-Eric Sullivan was just hired about 10 days ago as the Dolphins new GM. He had previously been in the Packers org since 2004. He was mostly a scout, Director of Scouting, then Director of Player Personnel, and finally VP of Layer Personnel. So he's pretty familiar with Hafley, and this is really no surprise to Packers fans. Will be interesting to see who replaces him. Have heard Raheem Morris and LaFleur are very good friends, going way back. But I wouldn't be surprised if they take an internal promotion like Demarcus Cousins or Derrick Ansley. Both are previous Def Coordinators in the league.
  14. Only if they lose to the Packers. 😉 As a "mostly pessimistic fan" about my sports teams, I don't have a lot of confidence that the Packers will prevail Saturday night. Their season just really became derailed with injuries. First, their best non-QB offensive player (this season anyway). Then the anchor on the D-line, followed by a season-ending injury to one of the best players in the league. It's not an excuse, just a reality. The NFL is a season of attrition, and the best teams each year usually have really good depth and are able to overcome the injury bug. Even if they pull out a victory, I just don't see them making a run like their injury-riddled 2010 season.
  15. I agree with this and thought it’s clearly expressed in my initial post. Quote -the reality of the failures may be due to lack of success of coordinators, and the HC can’t necessarily hire who he wants because history shows the organization doesn’t put a premium on assistants.
  16. I read that article differently than you did. I read the article as: -there’s rumors that LaFleur is on the hot seat, but according to Schefter, the Packers new President really likes the HC (and GM) -the reason there’s an appearance the the HC is on the hot seat is because they have “under performed” (with a HoF QB) in the playoffs and most recently in the regular season. -the reality of the failures may be due to lack of success of coordinators, and the HC can’t necessarily hire who he wants because history shows the organization doesn’t put a premium on assistants. As a side note, the Packers are pretty good about keeping negotiations out of the media. I would not be surprised if the team announces both the GM and HC received extensions sometime this past December.
  17. And Mr. Love has 1 of the other 2 road victories.
  18. There is a significant difference, IMO, between the #2 and #3 seed, so if I'm the Bears, I play to win Sunday. That said, the Packers played the Bears in the last week of the season, and their seed was already determined. WR Christian Watson blew out his knee in a non-contact play. There's a risk for any player every single play.
  19. I'm no capologist, but doesn't DJ Moore have more dead cap if he's cut/traded than if he stays? Spotrac shows a cap hit of $28.5 million and a dead cap of $35.4 million. I guess they could always play the June 1 game.
  20. Not as bad as losing because your team can't field an onside kick.
  21. What type of pitch mix does Harvey have? Is he a power pitcher given the injury history?
  22. This is the third time this season, all losses,
