Do two wins in a row constitute a "win streak"? I don't think so. Especially when they should have swept Cincy. After all, if the VBs can do it, why can't the cubs. Well, because their not the VBs. Embrace the suck.

A BIG “thank you” to Raisin for posting the video of Game 7. It’s really made for some interesting banter/recollections from that historic day. But the more I think about it, an even BIGGER thanks to me. After all, it was me who decided to post a non-game thread start on a day off. Had I not done this, does Raisin even post the video? Are we reminiscing the last 24 hours of he highs and lows? Do we get to relive the agony and the ecstasy? And let’s not even bring up the Kipnis....never mind. Anyway, in a word - Brilliant! But if we really want to drill down on the matter, we really owe all of this to Sammy Sofa. I mean, this thread absolutely does NOT exist if that guy (don’t know “him” so I’m making an assumption) can figure out a game thread started the day before a game versus threads started on gameday. I mean, it’s a mistake that can happen to anyone, right (even though it’s only happened to him in the dozen or so years I’ve been coming here)? So hats off to Sammy for inspiring the last day and a half of inspiring Cubs 2016 World Series banter,

Miles Mikolas signing looking pretty good through two months of the season. About to go to 6-0 with a complete game shutout of the “Hot Mess” Royals on 108 pitches. His ERA is sub 2.30. When will he begin to suck? Or will this be another “horseshoe up their a$$” find for St. Louis?

Can't lie - not overly disappointed Cubs will miss Carrasco and Kluber on T and W.

Marlins up 9-4 in the 9th, and up 9-5 in the ninth with 2 outs and a man on first......AND LOSE! The gave up a 6 spot in the bottom of the ninth. A Dansby Swanson single drives in the winning two for the Braves.

Felipe "Don't Call Me Rivero" Vazquez and the Bucs just sh!t the bed in the top of the ninth to the Padres. After a couple of singles to lead off the ninth, the ever-reliable Jordy Mercer throws wildly and the Padres tie it. Then a few more hits and suddenly the Bus are down 8-5 in the 9th. Two an and still nobody out. -

While I don't have much faith in Farid or the Cubs today, Sammy Sofa already chalked this game as a loss for me in the "Game Thread Starters" post. He has me listed as 2-2. WTF?!?!?

The weather in Chicago has been like the Cubs this season. Temps mostly below normal with an occasional up tick. And just when there's a few days strung together of what you'd expect for the given month - WHAM! Just like today, back to crap. I hope Farid doesn't have a tummy ache by the third inning.

I’m not fooled. Fake start of win streak. Too many runs and hits Saturday night. So that means they’re fuqued against a guy few have heard of. Farid looks awesome and yet struggles....again. Embrace the suck.

Because about 33% of his ABs, he pops it up to the SS behind third. Trying to figure out the AB this happens is the key.

I love the wording on Gameday for Heyward’s AB: “Jason Hayward triples (2) on a pop up to second baseman Scooter Gennett.” Any other batter and I question how that can even be.

So if I’m the opposing team, I would IBB the lead off hitter each inning. Balk twice, to keep the pitch count down. Then watch the inning unfold without allowing a run. Almost guaranteed to give up 1 run or less through nine innings, no?
