  1. Chris Capuano is pretty good. He was player of the week last week in the NL in fact. Oh yeah, he won 18 games last year too.
  2. Minor league observers (like Mark Peel in particular) have always rated Marshall above Hill. He was typically rated above Pinto as well. The minor injury last year set him back, which made people talk about him less, but he's always been considered a top prospect...higher than Hill. You heard about Hill so much last year because he went all the way from Single A to the majors in one year!...when he finally found control. Until last year, Hill was arguably the wildest pitcher in the minors.
  3. Marshall is dealing! I read the other day when the Cubs won the first 5 of Maddux's start this year, that it was the first time that Cubs had won the first 5 starts of a pitcher since Scott Sanderson in the 80's. Well guess what? The Cubs are 4-0 in Marshall's starts going into tonight............ You do the math.
  4. Thanks you two. Have to plan the night accordingly, ya know? Go Marshall!
  5. Any updates about the weather in Chicago tonight? They gonna play?
  6. So Jackson's in W Tennessee now eh? Nice to see him continue to hit and be healthy. Any chance he could help the Cubs this year in the outfield?
  7. Sheets is defineately the Brewers ace over Capuano. I don't like the Zambrano analogy for Capuano, as Z is a much better pitcher than Capuano...and has a long track record of success.
  8. How about Rusch DFA and Ryu up? Ryu can start a few games until Woody comes back, and if he is better than Guzman he can continue to start until Prior is back. (I'd also send Aardvark down and recall Wuertz.) I'd be in favor of HILL getting Rusch's spot in the rotation....and Ryu for middle relief. I don't think Ryu should leap HILL at this point.
  9. I don't think anyone's mentioned Ryu in this this thread, but he's another option for middle relief. Ryu's pitching well in Iowa, and might be a better option than Aardsma, Williams, or Wuertz at the moment. In his last start, he went 7 innings without giving up a run.
  10. I don't think that Aardsma's ready for the bigs yet. Send him down tomorrow and call up Hill.
  11. 2 2/3 innings of suckiness. Bye bye. Call up Hill, Ryu, Marmol...heck, even Gallagher would already be better I'm sure...
  12. Dear Jim Hendry: Please (1.) Fire Glendon Rusch and (2.) Call up Rich Hill. Thanks!
  13. Oh i wouldn't apologize for bringing up politics. If people can talk about "hot chicks" in game threads...or anything else off topic...then surely politics is fair game too. I'm just sayin'.. 1) A mod already asked to not bring it up. 2) That comparison isnt' remotely accurate. People are infinitely more passionate and argumentative about politics than other off-topic things that may come up in the game thread. Can i talk about religion then? kidding! p.s. i do find talk of hot chicks very annoying though.
  14. haha The good news is that his pitch count is already at 48, so he can't last too long in this game!

  16. Huh? The analogy needs no explanation. Sure it does. I don't see any point in making a comparison like that. I don't mean to stir things up, which is why I resisted explaining...sorry if you take offense. I just thought of it because several posters wrote "anybody but Rusch," which reminded me of the "anybody but Bush" slogan in the campaign of 2004. I happen to find both terribly incompetent at their jobs, that's all.
  17. Ugh Ramirez. We needed a fly ball. Rusch = George Bush.
  18. As Haray Carey would say, 3 runs will not win this game today!
  19. I'm sure that Hill or Ryu would be much better than Rusch right now!
  20. Count me good for 25/day. Already put em in today... Will try to do more if I can.
