  1. I'm not sure I can handle Jones and Pierre in the outfield all year. I'm ready for Pie to come and take one of the spots. Only problem is, I can't tell who is worse of the two.
  2. Some things to be positive about: 1) Ramirez seems to be getting his stroke back. He hit the ball hard. 2) Matt Murton continues to rock. 3) Guzman pitched decently. He defineately has great stuff. 96 MPH fastball. He'll be even better the next start. 4) Cedeno showing great range at ss once again today. Nice double play in the first in particular. 5) Novoa's looking solid in middle relief.
  3. yeah 20 games in & season's over. He definitely said the season's over in that post. I think I'm going to go post in that "I hate the rolleyes" thread again. Thank you!
  4. yeah 20 games in & season's over. Whoever said the season's over? Where did you get that from my statement? I happen to think that the Cubs can contend this year. I just think 2/3 of our outfield suck.
  5. That's easy. My leanings correspond with my political beliefs. Go left!
  6. OK I'm done with 2/3 of our outfield. I'll let you guess which 2/3.
  7. I promise to like you for the rest of the day if you get on Pierre!
  8. And big slugger Pierre at the plate.
  9. He could kick the fan after K'ing yet again... Break a bat over his knee? Now that would be funny. I know, I'm a sick and twisted person. Spend hours and hours IMing his brother?
  10. He has good offense? So we have heard, and not seen this year. Or last year. Apparently the propaganda blitz on how he his so hard to strike out and has the third most hits in the last 5 years hasn't sold you yet! haha apparently not. I'm sure glad we gave up three young arms for him though when we have a centerfielder better than him playing in Iowa.

  12. The gun in centerfield. How many assists does Felix Pie have this year for Iowa so far? 4? I'm just saying.
  13. I would have put Scott Eyre in during the 8th instead of Howry.
  14. We're gonna need a miracle in the bottom of the 9th. Like a Hank White homer.
  15. Warm-up deck, I like it. Ugh, so the 9th is Neifi, Blanco, Mabry, and Pierre. :(
  16. That makes sense. You know teams are more likely to walk Aramis. It makes a lot of sense. Pierre's not good. There's no reason to pick a fight. Aramis, as the only true power threat in the lineup, should have a higher OBP regardless of his BA. It's comparing apples and oranges. MURTON Oh, I'm not intending to pick a fight. You expressed your opinion that Ramirez's OBP is higher than Pierre's b/c of Ramirez is good enough to be pitched around. So I was just expressing the other side of the coin...that Juan Pierre is NOT good enough to be pitched around. Since Pierre cannot hit for ANY power, he has one job and one job alone: get on base. If he doesn't get on base, he's useless as a ballplayer. Well, he hasn't gotten on base this year with any consistancy whatsoever.
  17. Matt Murton's swing is soooooooo freakin' beautiful. Me heart Matt Murton!
  18. That makes sense. You know teams are more likely to walk Aramis. It makes a lot of sense. Pierre's not good.
  19. Most outfielders would have caught the ball to RF which would have made the out to Pierre the 3rd in the inning. But a run would have score on the first flyout either way That's the not so bad considering the bases were loaded when he came into the game. Williamson is to blame. I don't think that either pitcher did a good job. You're expecting a lot with the bases loaded. Howry gets more fly ball outs anyway. That ball should have been caught and no more than one run should have scored. He gets paid a lot of money. So for me to say he did a good job, he needed to come in and get a ground ball or a strike out. He didn't necessarily do bad...but he didn't do good either.
  20. Pitcher's spot up right now. Double switch totally not useless. It is when you are pretty much guaranteed to go around the order again if you are going to win the game. Leave Jones in there, pinch hit with Mabry, then make the decision on whether or not to leave Mabry in the field, or to put him somewhere else depending on how far we get in the lineup. There was no reason for Dusty to put Mabry in the game that soon. Exactly.
