  1. Has Ryu's velocity picked up at all yet?
  2. Thanks for the update. Go EPATT! He really needs a promotion. Daytona could use him as well getting on base with Walker before Moore, Dopirak, and Collins.
  3. Wellemeyer had a very nice start in his last outing. I'm looking for him to put up another strong start tonight. If he does, he could be a strong trade chip for the upcoming deadline yet. I could see some teams more interested in Welly than Mitre, for instance. I'd also like to see Welly more consistent, for if he's not traded, I think he could help the Cubs this stretch run out of the pen. Go Todd!
  4. Nice to see Marmol put it together at a start at W. Tenn! Anyone know how hard Marmol is throwing these days? Harvey continues to be hot. Fuld on base 4 times yesterday. Theriot also continues to impress.
  5. So Fuld is rated higher defensively than Pie? That can't be right, can it?
  6. Nice to see Pie as the 4th highest OF prospect. He's only after Young, Hermida, and Milledge. Of course, I'd put him numero uno baby!
  7. My favorite quotes were the ones about his defense. Dickerson cited a game where Pie robbed the opposing team of 4 gappers. When he didn't get to a 5th, Pie was upset. Amazing! I also love the attitude that Pie seems to have. He seems to have such a positive, infectious attitude...intent on winning. We're going to really enjoy Felix in Chicago.
  8. The Cubs have three lefties emerging as near ML ready: Hill, Pinto, and Marshall. All could be above average ML pitchers. Of the three, I'd trade Pinto first.
  9. Heck, try batting Murton and Greenburg 1 and 2 everyday. See what happens. I'm quite confident they'll get on base more than Neifi and Corey have.
  10. Both Murton and Greenburg have excellent plate discipline: Murton: .403 OBP 29 bb's/ 42 k's Greenburg: .386 OBP 41 bb's / 53 k's Both Dubois and Patterson lack that plate discipline: Dubois: .289 OBP 7 bb's / 49 k's Patterson: .270 OBP 16 bb's / 83 k's This is a very clear message from Hendry. He wants the Cubs to take a few pitches!
  11. Ron, Bacon has been hot lately. Do you ever see him being a role-player on a ML roster? Can he make enough contact? McGehee is quietly having quite a good season. Which position do you see him playing as a big leaguer? Does he have the chance to develop more power (after all, he's hit a lot of doubles) so he can stay at the hot corner? Seeing Soto play last year, and Reyes this year....who has the higher ceiling in your estimation? Thanks Ron!
  12. While the Nats have played very good baseball this year, they are a different team away from RFK. At home they are 27-10, while on the road they are 18-21. We lost 2 out of 3 in DC, however we should win the series in Chicago.
  13. Your guess is correct. Ugh....I hate Rule V. I understand how it helps the players...blah blah...but it hurts the Cubbies...hmpfph! FYI it's rule 5 not rule V. Though it may seem to hurt the Cubs it has made them $125K richer this season. ha, yeah that was a roman numeral...not that i'm roman...hmmm good point about the money.
  14. Your guess is correct. Ugh....I hate Rule V. I understand how it helps the players...blah blah...but it hurts the Cubbies...hmpfph!
