  1. That Bruins/Sabres OT and 2OT was intense as hell. Big hits, not many whistles and outstanding goaltending. Miller was standing on his head at times. The Sabres lose after getting called for too many men on the ice.
  2. I can't even begin to wrap my brain around this.
  3. Vikings draft plans were shaken up a bit today. 90% of the mock's had us taking a CB in the 1st but they just signed Lito Sheppard which probably takes that out of the picture. If Pouncey falls he's probably the pick but I don't expect that. Same with Clausen. I would like Mays if he falls but if none of those 3 are there, they'll try to trade down. Since everyone wants to do that, it gets tricky. Some people think Childress likes Tebow.
  4. But it's easier to get rrrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaallllllllllllllllllllyyyyyyyyyyyyyy mad and demand someone's head on a platter!!!! 8 baserunners, 0 runs. That is all. At least the Blackhawks were on at the same time, wait...
  5. If the Vikings draft Tebow...
  6. It's the best possible fit for Cromartie, I think he'll have a solid year. He's going to be lined up against all #2's/3's and with the pressure they get it's about as good of a spot as you can have.
  7. The Thursday night season opener is Vikings at Saints. Sounds like the Vikings are also playing the Thanksgiving night game at the Jets.
  8. I found a blog link on this. Neither rivals nor scout has him ranked yet. Hmmm. Yeah I was pretty surprised to see that IU offered. I would imagine he'll be seen this summer and evaluated because his AAU team is pretty solid. He's continued to develop skills. They just had a big weekend where they won a tournament against a pretty good field including Indiana Elite. He's got some good post moves and can step out and shoot the 3, but he's so weak. Here's a picture: http://gazetteonline.com/blogs/diamonds-and-ice/2010/04/18/jeffersons-uthoff-picks-up-indiana-offer He and 6'5 SG Josh Oglesby had an open gym last week where Syndek offered both on the spot. Iowa, Arizona, Butler and BC are coming in to see him tonight at an open gym.
  9. FYI for Indiana fans, Crean reportedly offered Jarrod Uthoff ('11) from Cedar Rapids, IA today. He's a skilled big, really skinny and probably has to add 25 pounds to play in the Big Ten. Not overly athletic but not a weakness either. His best offers previously were Arizona State (who also just offered a 6'5 SG from Cedar Rapids in the '11 class), UNI and Creighton. Iowa hasn't offered yet but the new staff met with him yesterday.
  10. Yeah Hossa was the man. The last two periods were a lot of fun to watch. Niemi was sharp and the d's seemed to block a lot of shots. Byfuglien was the biggest weakness in my mind.
  11. Probably the last time a position player pitched. Put a little thought into this before answering. When do position players usually pitch? When it's a blowout loss. Not when it's a tight game. For one it was sarcasm so don't get your panties in a bunch. No it wasn't.
  12. After that goal to put them up 4-3 it looked like Joe Louis arena with the amount of Red Wings fans on that side of the ice.
  13. Is Russell no longer considered a viable PG?
  14. Going to watch the Chiefs play tonight. Hak-Ju is 4-10 so far in the series, hopefully he keeps it up.
  15. Illinois came in and checked out a couple JUCO guards in Iowa in the past few weeks but passed on both. Kaylon Williams (formerly at Evansville) signed with UW-Milwaukee and Kurt Alexander signed with Drake.
  16. Lunardi is just like Mel Kiper. Both were ahead of the curve and kind of were pioneers in a niche that previously didn't have much coverage. I still like Mel though.
  17. I think it's absurdly silly to do something like this so early, because it's beyond useless. You could pretty much put whoever you want on there, because it doesn't matter. Obviously. ISU was just so strange though. They went 15-17 and are losing virtually every good player they had.
  18. I don't think Joe Lunardi knows that most of ISU's team left: http://sports.espn.go.com/ncaa/bracket?id=5071629
  19. Stupid Pistons. They won 4 of their last 6 meaning they're 6/7 in odds for the lottery including last night when they were down 11 in the 4th. 1 fewer win and they're tied for 4/5/6. Just go 2-4 to close the year and they're tied for 3rd. Now watch us end up with Ed [expletive] Davis.
  20. Class of 2010 or 2011? 2010. He's a skilled guy with a good frame. Pretty fluid and athletic. Has a decent face-up game but can play on the block also. I think he's going to end up at Florida.
  21. Brandon Marshall likely traded to the Dolphins today for a 2nd and a 2nd in 2011.
  22. Iowa interviewed Brownell also. Seemed like he has a great reputation as a coach but more questionable as a recruiter. The Bzdelik thing is still just crazy to me. By the way Truffle and Andy what can you tell me about Sean Kearney? He was ND's assoc. head coach and lead recruiter for years under Brey then got fired after one year as head coach at Holy Cross. Sounds like he's top candidate to be Fran's top assistant at Iowa.
  23. Well none of the safeties or defensive tackles fell, so the pick is CB. There are three in this range that they could take, Robinson from FSU, Jackson from Alabama or McCourty from Rutgers. Robinson is out because he's weakest against the run. I took McCourty the first time and though it's a bit of a toss-up, I'm sticking with him. The Vikings select Devin McCourty, cornerback from Rutgers.
  24. He very well could be. I don't really put a lot of stock in those aside from the guys with 5 or 1. I think his stock has fallen quite a bit because of the way he ended his senior season. Getting kicked off the team probably isn't the best way to finish your HS career. Good high school players who come on the market in the spring are always attractive after schools have defections. Indiana went and checked him out the other night and it sounds like they'll offer. Florida may offer. Minnesota is interested. Brust has a bunch of offers now also including Wisconsin supposedly. Brust sounds more likely to come back than Larson but if we get Brust, that will obviously help our chances with Cody. They'll be better than 90% of the guys available that we can get now but if they don't come I won't be devastated. Blow the whole thing up and let Fran start over with a boatload of scholarships.
  25. I think there's a chance Brust may re-commit.
