  1. The Mavs and Nuggets series are shocking me.
  2. They have to go down. Someone has to slip up and make one of their violations easy to prove. You know every other coach in the country resents him so they'll find a way to pass it on to the NCAA. Especially ballsy since Bruce Pearl and his tape recorder are in his conference. We're fortunate to have a coach of such high morals, ethics and integrity in the SEC. Bruce will try to make sure the cheaters in that league get their comeuppance just like he did in the Big Ten. Fortunate indeed.

  4. I want to elaborate on this. I honestly haven't flipped out like that because of a sporting event in years. I think maybe Devin Hester in the SB is the last time. Wow. Shame on me for giving up on this team for a bit there. Parise goal in the gold medal game? That was the last one for me. Have had a couple Iowa football and Vikings games mixed in. The last minute plus OT was just nerve-wracking beyond belief.
  5. Sounds like Oregon will go with choice 34 and end up with Dana Altman.
  6. Do the Bears have or are they willing to spend money on him? I have no idea just wondering because cutting Brown seemed to be about the budget. I'm hoping the Vikings sign him for RG and bench Herrera.
  7. I was hoping for Asamoah with the Vikings second 2nd round draft pick. He's a solid guard that people think could slide to center. Was a consensus #2/#3 guard. Moeaki could be a steal if he can stay healthy. Big knock on him was durability but when healthy he's as complete of a tight end as you can find. Ferentz constantly says he's the best blocking tight end he's coached. He's not one of those freak size/speed TE's but he has great hands, runs good routes and has solid speed.
  8. Browns traded up again. This has to be Colt.
  9. All four NFC North teams bolstered their secondaries in the 2nd and 3rd rounds.
  10. That's a good pick for the Bears. Packers have two solid picks with Bulaga and Burnett. Lions are having another good draft.
  11. Gotta be Colt here to the Browns.
  12. Well it was a need and I thought they'd take RB somewhere between 3-5. That said I'm really surprised they traded up for him, obviously they thought he was bpa. I heard they felt that New England was going to take him. I like Gerhart a lot. He's extremely similar to Shawn Greene in my opinion. I hope we can package some later picks to get into the 3rd although the 4th that we acquired is basically the same as our original 3rd.
  13. I think he said Balter Raiders.
  14. So strange. The Broncos are on the clock at 45 but neither 43 or 44 have been announced.
  15. No they just don't like Clausen or McCoy. They were willing to take Tebow I think.
  16. Yep. Starts at 6 p.m. CST. 5 p.m. central.
  17. Unless the Jags move up to overdraft him, I could definitely see him being there. There hasn't been much buzz around Asamoah that I've heard. he was a top 15 pick a few months ago, the best guard available. You sure about that? Maybe I missed it but I never once heard him ranked ahead of Iupati and don't remember ever seeing him in the top 15. FYI both McShay and Kiper have him going to the Eagles in the 2nd round either at 37 or 55.
  18. I think Minny is taking Clausen if hes there. I thought so originally when they just traded down behind teams who didn't need a QB. But why would they give quarterback desperate teams almost 24 hours to make a deal with the Rams? Unless they like Clausen and Mccoy equally and so traded back because they don't care which one they get, it doesn't make sense for them to trade back if they were interested in Clausen. Exactly. In the old format that would have made more sense but not with this much time before the next pick. According to everything (unless it's a total smokescreen) they don't like Colt at all. I have to think they don't like either of them. And if they pass on a guy like Clausen at 30 and end up with some guy like Saffold...
  19. I think Minny is taking Clausen if hes there. I hope so but I don't see it. If they liked him I don't think they would take the risk that someone (Cleveland, Buffalo maybe) would trade up to 33 to get him in front of them.
  20. Didn't read through any of this but damnit I wanted Clausen and we passed on him. Even if no one trades up for him at 33 I don't think we're taking him at 34. If they liked him they wouldn't have taken the risk and would've grabbed him at 30. Give me Taylor Mays if no QB.
  21. Understood. My point is that the incentive for expansion on the NCAA's end was to get the new deal. Now that they've got that deal, they don't have the major incentive to expand to 96 until we get to around 2020 or so. They aren't going to make substantially more money by expanding it while staying within the current tv deal. They also heard much of the backlash against it over the last few months. As I said CBS/Turner may think they can get more return on their investment by expanding but it's not their decision.
  22. Who says they have? I think this is highly likely just a baby step. Very possible but a big reason for going to 96 was the tv deal. They have a 14-year tv deal now based on a 68-team format. Perhaps CBS/Turner would decide they can get a lot better return on their investment if they add the extra round but from the NCAA's standpoint they have what they wanted. They have a deal through 2014, and 96 teams is still on the table during the deal. Are you talking about the previous deal through 2014 and those talks or am I misunderstanding you? The driving force behind a possible expansion to 96 was trying to get a new tv deal via an opt-out or when the previous deal expired in 2014. Now that they have that deal for the next 14 years, I don't see a major incentive to jump to 96 in the next handful of years.

  24. Yes please. With the signing of Lito, I think the Vikings have convinced teams that if they REALLY want Tebow (or Jimmy if he falls) they'll have to trade up ahead of them or make a deal with them. I [expletive] love draft day.
  25. I don't care what any of you say, this makes my [expletive] day. It beats the hell out of 96 and having all 4 games live on tv without having to buy a package or watch on my laptop is awesome.
