  1. It's not really weird. He would have been about the sixth or seventh guard on the depth chart. It's not weird that a guy who is less than 12 months from graduation and gave up basketball a year ago to focus on education is transferring schools?
  2. So what exactly did Cal come up with that changed his mind so quickly? What a farce this guy is making of the NCAA. http://www.usatoday.com/sports/college/2010-04-27-ncaa-president-emmert_N.htm woops! Won't matter. Coach Cal is untouchable. The talking heads at ESPN don't even go after him. I get he's Italian and thus Vitale is in love with him, but what about Bilas and Gotlieb? Why can't these guys even question him? Gottlieb went after him early last season. I'm guessing he was told to shut up cause there wasn't much talk about it after the first few days he ripped him. He still does at times on the radio and I think it's pretty easy to tell that Bilas isn't a fan. I'm sure ESPN has instructed them on what they can say on issues like that.
  3. Come on, 3 off days between games 2 and 3 for each series? This has been the least enjoyable NBA Playoffs I can remember in a while.
  4. And you're basing this on...what, exactly? A quick look at his recent posts reveals that indycub thinks our rotation is completely awful. I don't get it.
  5. The coin flip doesn't affect the numbered combos each team gets. You each got 53. They got the same amount but if the Pistons had won the flip they would have had the combination that resulted in the Sixers getting #2. At least that's what I read yesterday. I'm not really upset about that though. I am annoyed that they turned it on in the last 10 days of the season.
  6. He drove Daniel Sedin nuts also.
  7. See I don't mind losing game 5, so we can clinch the series at Wrigley Field in front of our fans. I want to punch myself every time I think of how I was before, during and after that game.
  8. I can't really pick out any players that played poorly in the last two games. Or even much below expectations. The top 4 defensemen have played well. The 3rd line has really been effective and the 4th line has brought some energy and physicality without big mistakes. Hendry and Sopel (5-5) haven't been outstanding but haven't had major gaffes and have made some nice plays. Obviously Niemi is a big part of that and the Sharks haven't finished on some chances but we had a lot more uneven play in the previous two series.
  9. IDK what you are talking about, but Melrose has been on the Hawks bandwagon since Toews/Kane era began. In fact the Hawks are his favorite to win the Stanley Cup. Not to mention he's in love with the Hawks jersey. Yeah I swear in every analysis of the Blackhawks he throws in "and they have the best jersey in sports." i've only heard him say it about the hawks Fixed

  11. He's been really high on them all postseason and most of the year.
  12. Bolland is getting under everyone's skin these last two series. Love it. That's how you draw it up with the lead. Forwards and defense working together to make things difficult in the neutral zone and chip it out. United Center should be crazy Friday night. Sharks are getting frustrated.
  13. My team. im talkin about that versus girl. i always forget her name Charissa Thompson? Yep, those of us with the Big Ten Network have known about her for a couple of years. The Bolland-Versteeg-Ladd line has been awesome this series.
  14. It's like the Pacers have the 3rd pick overall. They know they're either getting Aldrich, Hayward or Babbitt.
  15. When I saw that was the top 3 I was hoping the 6ers would get the #1 spot. I want Philly and the Knicks to be good again.
  16. Well that was really lame. If the Pistons hadn't lost a coin flip with the 76ers as a result of a tie they would presumably have the #2 pick. Of course they won 4 of their last 6 to ensure they would finish one fricking game ahead of the Wiz. Welcome to Detroit Ed Davis!
  17. Is there any reason why they didn't stagger the series' from the start? Could have had the west on Sun/Tue/Thu/Sat and East Mon/Wed/Fri/Sun instead of doubling up on Sunday and Tuesday while leaving Monday and Wednesday blank.
  18. So did the referee mistakenly send Versteeg to the box instead of Bolland or did Q somehow slip it past them?
  19. Wow was that exciting. The entire series won't be like that but if we get a few more games that's about as heart-stopping as it gets. Imagine if both teams start to finish on some of the chances they had. Niemi won that game. Will be interesting to see the ice time but the 3rd line seemed to be out there a ton and all three of them played pretty well. I thought the 4th line also gave some pretty good minutes. Good energy and solid on the forecheck. 1st line didn't create a bunch until Buff's goal. It's nice to have a game 2 that's gravy. Obviously you have a chance to step on them 2-0 but getting a split is what you wanted. Given the way they've played on the road I don't expect any letdown although you aren't likely to get that kind of effort out of Niemi again.
  20. Here's a hockey question I've been wondering for a while. Can someone explain to me why scoring was so much higher in the 80's than it is now with the post-lockout rule changes? Is it just better goalies or better goalie equipment? Is there still that much more trapping than there was?
  21. Truffle : Flyers season = erik : Cubs games
  22. Bring on Philly. Montreal is scary because of Halak and their shot-blocking at times along with Cammalleri looking like a stud.
  23. Puck Prospectus' series preview: http://www.puckprospectus.com/article.php?articleid=564
  24. Exactly. If they were going to Brooklyn next year I think it would be a slam dunk. As it is I think it makes sense but is about 3rd/4th most likely. Bucher thinks the opposite of Broussard and feels there will be a sign and trade although I think his logic was a bit off. If it were to become clear that a S&T would be required to land him, it would turn into an interesting bidding war.
  25. I'm not sure if you mean to tie all those thoughts together, but just to be clear, you're aware that the Bulls don't need to do a S&T to sign LBJ, right? They can sign him outright. Really? I had no idea. So you mean a free agent is free to sign with another team that has the salary cap space to sign him? You just blew my mind. All those thoughts? It was two thoughts. One opinion saying to go to the Clippers and aresponse to the sign and trade.
