  1. No kidding. He's gonna play 31-33 minutes.
  2. Agreed overall but it would be foolish of them to switch Pronger just for Buff given his play. Hossa needs a lot of ice time in the 3rd.
  3. Really? During their multiple PP's what did they get two shots? Hawks CARRIED they play otherwise. Touche. We just couldn't generate much offense 5-5.
  4. And he's looked slower in the 3rd in almost every game. Swap Brouwer and Buff and skate around his ass.
  5. Oh come on. He's had a poor 4 games for his standards after a tremendous 16 games where he was the best player in the playoffs.
  6. Flyers definitely won that period. Seriously Toews, it's time for you to show up this series. I've given up on Buff but Toews has been a real disappointment tonight. Gotta get more pucks on the net and more traffic. It's still Leighton back there.
  7. I'm just pissed that a few guys making a few terrible plays have resulted in a 3-1 deficit. We've played sooo much better than game 3. Oh and as much as I love Hossa and defend him at all times, SHOOT THE EFFING PUCK! There are 5 seconds left!
  8. No not even close. Eff you Buff. Eff you Hammer. Eff you Sopel. Other than that they've played really well. Physical, fast, more puck control and fairly smart. Buff is dragging down Kane and Toews so much right now. Switch him and Brouwer, put him on the 4th line right now. Boynton has held his own and had a key block. Too bad you can't trust any of the d's besides 2/7/51. Although Hjalmarsson has been solid in this series.
  9. I've been saying this is the 4-1 break it open game tonight with 3-4 points from the 1st line so I'll stick with that. Either way I'm pumped. Heading out to get my Bell's Two Hearted 6-pack and they're 3-0 in the playoffs when I drink that during the game.
  10. You just feel that way because you like to freak out after anything remotely negative happens to any of your teams. The non-erik's of the world feel overreacting is far more annoying than complaining about overreacting. < The "add foe" button is over there somewhere, I think. Otherwise, we post how we post. I never said you can't. I'm pointing out that people on the opposite side of him would not think the complaints of overreacting are more annoying than the act itself.

  12. It's not, imo. It's the problems with the Philadelphia matchup. Philly has a ton of fast, aggressive forwards who can put pressure on our defense, because they know that Pronger is back there to clean up behind them. Almost all of our bad games this season have come when we don't handle the forecheck well. Weren't you posting after games 1 and 2 that you were shocked how slow Philly was? Maybe that was someone else.
  13. You better be more drunk than I am.
  14. Game 1: 0 PP's for the Hawks, 4 for the Flyers. Game 3: 3 PP's for each team. Game 1: Despite 8 PIM shots are even at 32. Game 3: Flyers outshoot the Hawks 32-27 Game 1: Hawks win faceoffs 40-24 Game 3: Flyers win faceoffs 34-28 Game 1: Hawks start sluggish in the 1st, even in the 2nd, win the 3rd. Game 3: Hawks are dominated in the 3rd and OT. But yes, you're right. Game 3 was clearly the Hawks best of the series and game 1 was clearly their worst. The freakouts are absurd. Especially coming from people saying a split in Philly would be great. They lost a [expletive] overtime game on the road against desperate team while playing terribly. Come on! It's the Stanley Cup against a resiliant and talented team. Anyone expecting a cakewalk was mistaken and I said the same after game 1. You knew the Flyers would keep coming and you knew tonight was going to be a total dogfight. Game 3 of a series (NHL or NBA or MLB I guess) when the home team is up 2-0 is not time for a freakout.
  15. this wasn't their worst game of the series. it was their best probably. and right now, the hawks are not superior. these teams have played evenly for 3 games now. You think this was the Hawks best game of the series? We aren't watching the same games then. It was the Flyers best game and the Hawks worst. did you not watch game 1 at all? i mean, seriously. Watched the whole thing and saw a lot more and better offensive chances. Shots were even dispite 8 minutes disadvantage in pp. Yes Leighton was bad but they scored 6 goals with 0 power plays. They had an equal number of shots, won the faceoffs 40-24 and survived a 4-0 penalty disadvantage to win.
  16. We've gotten outshot by 5+ shots every game this series, we haven't scored a power play goal in the entire series, we've given up 3-4 PPGs this series, we got manhandled in the faceoff zone to pathetic levels. The first 2 goals we scored in the game weren't exactly good looks. In fact, from my view of the game, we didn't get very many good looks all night, with a few notable instances. The Flyers are manhandling us in the crease. Leighton is giving up huge rebounds, and we cannot get our stick on them at all. So now the only faceoff numbers that matter are from tonight's game? And you really don't think the Hawks PP is going to be better? You don't think they're going to convert better around the net? And you think the Flyers are going to keep up their power play numbers? Seriously you guys are overreacting like mad.
  17. this wasn't their worst game of the series. it was their best probably. and right now, the hawks are not superior. these teams have played evenly for 3 games now. You think this was the Hawks best game of the series? We aren't watching the same games then. It was the Flyers best game and the Hawks worst. You could say defensively they played worse in game 1 but overall tonight was the worst in my opinion. And it still took OT to lose on the road. Yes on talent level and in the net the Hawks are the superior team. They need to go 2-2 over the last 4 with 2 of them at home.
  18. Hahahahah. You're priceless man. The Hawks and their temerity to lose a game in the playoffs after winning 7 straight. WHERE'S THE JUSTICE seems like we've had to win a million games in a row and still we're not going to win the cup, it sucks to sweat through a bunch of tough games and still know that our opponent has the advantage. Anti-jinx or not, I have no idea what you're talking about.
  19. Chill the hell out. They still have to win 3/4 against a superior team. We played by far our worst game and they needed OT to win it at home. And they're living off their power play which won't last an entire series.
  20. Overreaction. They deserved that game. Doesn't change the fact that they have to win 3/4 with 2 of them in the UC.
  21. Agreed, so has Versteeg. I also think the 4th line has taken a step back although Madden has won some key faceoffs. No bad penalties here in OT...
  22. I don't think Toews has really played that badly. No he hasn't played that badly but he hasn't been great either, especially on the power play. Not sure of the faceoff numbers. As I said though Kane was playing with a lot more energy and better backchecking.
  23. Even without the assist this has definitely been Kane's best game of the series. Now if we could just get Toews, Buff and the special teams clicking...
  24. Versteeg was awful that period. Too bad Brouwer wasn't able to clear that puck before the first goal. They came with a ton of energy which was to be expected. We're fine.
