  1. Some of the opinions are based upon past history, as TT mentioned.
  2. Hopefully Jones is going to be able to play everyday and his injury is healed.
  3. Dusty once again ignores the concept of OBP at the top of the order. Other than speed, Bynum has no reason to be batting 2nd.
  4. I agree with the sentiment but doesn't space on the 40 man have to be cleared for him to be brought up?
  5. If Jones is out for an extended period of time, then bring up, for no other reason than there is nobody else. If Jones is back on Monday for LA, then Pie will sit and then its completely pointless.
  6. I can't think of any other mid-season free agents, so I don't know if that's much of an accomplishment.
  7. If Rusch is the guy removed from the rotation, what are they going to do with him? The bullpen is an option as a long man, he's shown to be better as a starter though. All the more reason that signing him to a 2 year deal was a mistake this off season.
  8. Is this is the first official Dusty give up lineup of the year?
  9. What does Glendon Rusch have to do with Andy Sisco? If Sisco was still in the organization, he'd likely be in the same position as Marshall, Guzman and Ryu. In other words, Rusch still would of gotten a $5 mil, 2 year contract. The title of the thread makes the comparison.
  10. How'd that personal trainer work out?
  11. I have to relay a story I heard from a good friend of mine from St. Louis (yes, he's a Cards fan). A few years ago, he and some of his buddies were down on the Landing in St. Louis. They were at a bar and Chris Widger and Steve Kline walked up to the bar where my buddy and his friends were standing. They struck up a conversation and it turned into them swapping stories and jokes. Chris Widger says, "If you like that, you'll love this. What do you call a gay hotdog?" My buddy has no idea. Then totally stone faced, Widger says "Jim Edmonds".
  12. I came in to post the same thing. You've got the hitter down 0-2 and you cut him some slack by giving him a pitchout. Terrible, unnessecary move. Other than that, I'll give Dusty his due. He's done a good job so far, now, let's keep it that way.
  13. Don't Howry and Eyre count as good free agents? I know Jones hasn't done anything yet but Hendry should get credit for the two pitchers. It's way too early to tell if they were good signing. Hawkins looked like a great signing only a week into his first season too. In fact, he looked like a great signing until he was made in the closer. Then, not so much.
  14. He's not complaining about the clubhouse. Dude is whining about hot water. Be a man, Jim. Go back to your fancy hotel and take a shower if it's that freaking important. But that's out of his way, Boystown is much closer to Wrigley than a downtown hotel.
  15. That's a great question. If Dusty is going to Neifi at 2B for his defense, and he's obviously is going to Walker for his offense, where does that leave Hairston? He's got to feel like the odd man out.
  16. Todd Walker got really ticked off about not starting the home opener last year (a la Todd Hundley), I'm wondering if he's gonna have the same reaction tomorrow.
  17. Three straight road games in Weeks 10-12? That's a pretty rough stretch. What the hell are the Cardinals doing on MNF?
  18. Can Cub fans realistically expect Williamson to return to his old form?
