  1. And a walk. How dare Corey try when his team is already winning? i'm just glad people continue to rag on patterson when he's doing well for another team. he could save 40 babies from a burning building and people would complain that the fire wasn't even that bad by the time he'd saved #34. Look at his face when he's saving those babies! He doesn't care!
  2. I don't really see the big deal in talking about the injury. Would it really change the way the Brewers approached in-game strategy?
  3. That's crazy. Bush's agent must have been out of control with demands.
  4. I just hope the Cubs don't have his daughter in the broadcast booth anymore.
  5. Tim McClellan and... Tim McClellan. He was the homeplate ump at the Sosa corked bat game and the ump who threw George Brett out when his bat had too much pine tar on it. And? He did what he had too do in both situations... the Brett pine tar thing was the correct call. I'm not suggesting anything. I'm just pointing out a strange coinicidence. The same umpire was involved in throwing out star players in two of the most infamous incidents in baseball history.

  7. If Manning doesn't do anything productive, cut him after the 2008 season.
  8. I just don't get it. The Cubs were frustrated by Corey's inability to be a more selective hitter, so naturally they go out and get a more EXPENSIVE, OLDER version of Corey. I just don't get it. I would prefer Burnitz to Jones. Jim Hendry = No Offseason Plan. Again. Funny. It seems like he at least put together one of the best bullpens in baseball, if nothing else. and a good bullpen is what % of a complete team? It's given us more than a couple wins this season. Look at the Marlins tonight. Offense, starting pitching, and defense are good to great. One arm loses the game for them. He walked them into a loss. The mismanagement of the pen by Girardi is as much to blame as the one pitcher who get rocked in the 8th. He didn't have a Lefty, so I don't know how much was up to him. Not even necessarily a lefty/lefty matchup. Johnson clearly didn't have anything tonight and Girardi left him out there to pitch.

  10. Well then, if Cedeno was so "obviously" playing him to pull in such a sever manner, shouldn't Walker have been playing virtually up the middle? I guess that depends on what the spray charts say. Also, I don't remember Baker ever saying "walks are overrated". Does anyone have a link? Maybe I missed it. http://www.baseballprospectus.com/article.php?articleid=2669 That link made my head hurt.
  11. Totally agree. It's ridiculous but let's still go ahead and give everybody extensions! Actually one coach was fired after 2004. They waved goodbye to Wavin' Wendell. How could I forget that one? Wasn't Dusty supposedly a little ticked off that Hendy let Wendell go?
  12. its still amazing nobody from this coaching staff was fired after the debacles of the '04 and '05 seasons.
  13. Interesting lineup. Pretty much what I expected, not bad considering the options Dusty has. Not a whole lot of power in that lineup, let's hope they can just get on base and drive each other in.
  14. Can other teams compile lists like this for their players over the same time span?
  15. He already has the record and strikeouts don't take away much from his overall production. The year-by-year leaderboard of strikeouts constantly is filled by productive hitters.
  16. Where is the Lofton-Maddux discussion?
  17. I believe his contract expired this past off season.
  18. Marshall: 1-0 7.71 ERA 4K/2 BB Penny: 2-0 1.50 ERA 18K/1BB  Please win.
