    Hawk Harrelson said last week that Joe Crede is the MVP of the American League. I'm not making that up. And I think he was actually being completely serious.

    Not sure how either helps us at 1B, other than by allowing us to leave Walker there. And, I'm pretty sure that Soriano isn't the answer to our woeful OBP, though it would be nearly impossible to lower it any. Another 2B!!!!!!!!!

    What was the deal with the exchanging of words between Dave Roberts and Michael Barrett? It looked like Barrett might have said something by the body language and Roberts reaction.

    Remember the "double switch" that he botched a couple years ago when Ramon Martinez belted a double then was called out for batting out of order? Dusty got out of the straight jacket that day. I want to see botched double switch Dusty at some point soon. I'm no Baker fan but C.B. Bucknor was the plate umpire that day. Knowing that Bucknor is one of the Poster Children for everything that is wrong about MLB umpires I'm quite certain Baker wasn't at fault that day. That's as mad as I've seen Baker since he's been here. IIRC, Dusty admitted after the game it was his fault. He assumed the official scorer knew it was a double switch, but he never actually made the double switch.

    It annoys me that so many quotes from Baker usual end with some story from the past. Sometimes its when he was managing the Giants, sometimes its from when he's a player, it gets old.

    No he hasn't, hes made a couple plays at first and sucked at the plate. Alot of the Cubs runs were because of bad defense. I feel Mabry saved a couple of runs with defense. They didn't need his bat luckily. What? He was batting 5th in the lineup. They got destroyed. There very much needed his bat.

    First basemen have to bat in the 3,4,5 spots.

    Is Mabry batting fifth (again) similar to the CF/2B/SS, putting put in the 1-2 spots no matter who it is? 1st basemen have to be in the power spots. Murton is not being batting below 6th in that lineup, and its laughable that Barrett is behind Mabry.

    You realize that he just made his major league debut, right? He's been pretty bad but its not even close to reality to say he's been rocked whenever he comes up. Your logic with Pie is way off base, he hasn't been ready for the big leagues until this season, and that's even questionable. Why rush somebody up just to have them up, let them develop and turn into a polish all around player.
