    Donovan played like he was scared. Maybe all of the criticism from the Europeans have affected his play internationally. There's no way he looked like the finisher that he could/should be. The old guys on this squad need to head off to pasture and let the next generation step in. Very disappointing but hopefully there will be some good soccer let in this tournament.

    That's an enormously bold thing to say. I'm sure there is alot more that you and I don't know about as opposed to what we DO know about. I played organized baseball for 16 years and in that time, I saw fights occur over every possible thing imaginable. I've even seen a fight between a 1B and a 2B because the 1B thought that the 2b had thrown the ball too hard to him on a ground out. I have no problem with suspending Barrett, but 10 games is a ton. There was a brawl between the Yankees and Red Sox back in the '70's, I want to say. The benches cleared and some punching were thrown and it was over a catcher getting plowed over at the plate. One of the Yankees' pitcher's separated his shoulder and was dangling down by his side. Pretty ugly.

    Are we sure he's not on the DL from getting whip lash in his neck?

    Considering the interest in him this offseason, I doubt he'd get much of a chance to contribute if traded. (Which speaks to the complete stupidity of all baseball front office personnel.) During the middle of the season, there is at least an opportunity to realize they are not adequate at 2B. Whether its because of injuries, ineffectiveness, or both, some team probably could use him.

    If the Cubs are remotely serious are having Murton as an everyday LF in the future, this is inexcusable.

    I hope Todd Walker gets trading by the deadline at the end of July. Not because I don't like him, or because he's a good hitter but for his sake. He's gotta be frustrated about his playing time, but hasn't made any waves about it. I hope he gets dealt to a contender so he can actually contribute to a winning tream down the stretch.

    I haven't been so disappointed in watching a sporting event in a long time. US looked absolutely dead, they have to play much, much better on Saturday to stand any chance of advance.

    As DJ Gallo pointed out, the Dutch and Serbia and Montenegro have opposite flags. Tomorrow's game could be interesting.

    I can't imagine a Fortune 500 company would keep 2 sets of books in them in this day and age. With the Enrons and World Coms getting busted, the risk is far to great to do this and expect to get away with it. And also, what would the motivation be for doing this? What could possible be worth destroying an enormous company?
