I really hope the Cubs just trade Maddux. If they get anything of any value in return, great. If they get some major league ready players, great. If they get average minor leaguers, great. Maddux serves very little purpose on this team for the remainder of the 2006 season and getting anything for him is beneficial for this organization. I'm won't be shocked if Maddux is still with the team tomorrow night, if that happens, I fully expect him to be in a Cubs uniform for the 2007 season as well. Hendry has stated numerous times that he was caught off guard by the Prior injury last offseason and I don't see him heading into next year with a lack of starting pitching. Not that this particular pitching will be any good whatsoever (Maddux, Rusch, etc.), but the GM and manager should have their choice of the 5 man rotation from plenty of arms.
