  1. I wish these games were broadcast on tv/radio.
  2. I really don't see the Cubs being able/willing to put together a package to get Cabrera but there's one positive for the Cubs. There has seemingly been interest from both organizations to make deals in the past. 1. Clement/Alf-Willis 2. Lee-Choi 3. Pierre-pitchers
  3. Neifi Perez vs. LHP 3 year: .259/.291/.415/.706 You know you suck when Neifi puts up better numbers than you. Neifi is swinging from the right side of the plate, when he is facing those lefties, unlike Jones. It's not a fair comparison. However, I do agree that Jones needs to be platooned v.s. LH'ers. Right now it looks like either Grissom or Hairston will be his platoon partner. I'm scared of Hairston platooned in RF with a lefty on the mound because then Dusty will use Perez instead of Walker at 2B. I'd prefer Walker to play nearly everyday versus righties and leftires, and split Hairston and Jones.
  4. I can't stand it when the Tribune uses it to sell their own products.
  5. I got through with 800-THE-CUBS twice in about 5 minutes. I went best available for the April 30th against the Brewers and August 3rd against the Diamondbacks. It was about 3:30 and the best available were 403 for the Brewers 236 for the Diamondbacks Somewhat disappointed by the seats from looking at a seating map but beggers can't be choosers.
  6. why does Iguchi have power potential? Just because Hawk Harrelson says it, doesn't make it so.
  7. Who would be the favorite? Carpenter because he's the reigning champ?
  8. Another cornerback is on the market now, Ahmed Plummer was cut by the 49ers.
  9. Will Corey Patterson be brought into every discussion of Cub prospects for the next 15 years?
  10. Especially in a case like this. Todd Walker is cleary the best of the 3. Competition should be used for situations when a new player is brought in, or even when a rookie is a potential starter. All three of these guys were on the team last year, all three are established veteran players. Seeing how they perform in garbage spring training games really shouldn't play much of factor in determining who will start at 2B this year.
  11. Kiley is the one reporter that keeps harping on Todd Walker not starting at 2B this year. All winter, he was the writer who kept saying Perez was on the top of the depth chart and now he's throwing support for Hairston.
  12. definitely Eaton.
  13. He must have shown up today, Cubs.com has an article quoting him about him playing in the WBC. http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/news/article.jsp?ymd=20060221&content_id=1317559&vkey=spt2006news&fext=.jsp&c_id=chc Here's Dusty take on Aramis and the WBC.
  14. This might be a stupid question but I'm gonna throw it out there for some of you more informed soccer to answer. Does Freddie Adu have any chance to make the US roster? Is he still too young or too raw?
  15. great idea USS. I'm definitely pumped for this thing to start. I'm disappointed by having early afternoon games here in the States, hopefully work schedules are favorable. I put some money on Holland in Vegas to win as a semi-dark horse, so I'm definitely pulling for two teams.
  16. That's a breath of fresh air.
  17. and one horrendous slide on one of those.http://xd1.xanga.com/8fb800ea002315452375/b4714116.jpg Thanks Jon, nice work.
  18. Groundhog's Day
  19. and one horrendous slide on one of those.
  20. Is Patterson pencilled in to be the Oriole's starting CF?
