  1. over his short career, Loney is impressive away from Dodger Stadium -- .315 / .367 / .505 in 275 games.
  2. I understand the NTC, but at what point does a player realize that his team doesn't want him? That can't be a good situation.
  3. one can only hope that Cub fans will sufficiently express their disappointment with this bullcrap move.
  4. I totally get the DirecTV thing. However, it cost a lot of money and chances are that it's not going to cause anyone to be a cub fan. A cub fan is going to buy it.
  5. Todd is cool. . . . hehehehehhehehe http://images.ctvdigital.com/images/pub2upload/45/2008_7_30/beavisandbutthead_todd.jpg
  6. I think it is safe to say that fans will become more regional over time. Sure, there's DirecTV, but the ones buying that are probably the older crowd who grew up watching WGN (guys like many of us on the board here). The days of kids across the nation becoming Cub fans might be coming to an end. I'm asked all the time how a kid from Arkansas becomes a cub fan. That's easy --- Cubs were on my TV 150 times per year.
  7. the Cubs haven't won because they are a poorly ran baseball organization that failed miserably at developing its own talent for the better part of half a century.
  8. If Hendry gives him $18 million for the next 12 years with a full no trade clause and a 5 year player option for $30 million per year, then we can assume he's crap will not amount to much.
  9. another chance at what?
  10. Cliff would no doubt sign with the cards for the league minimum. You know, just for the chance to play in front of the best fans in baseball.
  11. Hitters seem to really like whatever it is that Randy Wells is throwing these days.
  12. why do we watch this [expletive]? :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
  13. he has a no trade clause
  14. maybe he just doesn't start fast
  15. UGH, Good God, y'all. What is it good for?
  16. I thought the entire field was redone a few years back. . . . . so they screwed that up, too?
  17. you can't measure "playing the right way" and "scrapiness" with mere numbers, people. We're talking about a guy who runs hard and stuff.
  18. that jumbo tron across the street would be nice
  19. damn. only the cardinals get that kind of a break.
  20. Yeah, I heard those guys talking about Russell. I didn't even know who the heck they were talking about. . . .Russell is new to me. I liked that store, too. Some of the stuff was cheap --- $30 shin guards. $15 bat boy jerseys. Some of the real jerseys were $50 or less. I just don't give a crap about the Rangers (I've tried liking them, it just doesn't work out). Best deal in Arlington is the indoor concession stand to the right of the wiffle ball fiedl --- $7 gets you a drink, hot dog, and bag of chips. Everywhere else drinks were $4.50ish and dogs were $4.50.
  21. Sounds like Baker needs a girl friend.
  22. pujols probably mows that guys lawn for free and donates $1 per grass clipping to the charity of that guy's choice. . ...because Pujols is just awesome like that.
