  1. Didn't known Charlie Weis played baseball in his younger days.
  2. I'm the farthest thing from a hipster you'll ever meet and I proudly keep PBR long necks in the fridge at all times. It's great stuff. It's usually a difficult choice between the PBR and the High Life every time I thirsty for a tasty beer.
  3. I didn't say they are going to do what the fans want. I said they are listening. Big difference. I'm hoping they realize there is a lot of unrest with the fan base. There aren't a lot of "as sucks" kind of fans anymore.
  4. I guess the good thing about it is that (maybe) they recognize there is some misconception regarding the direction of the franchise :) Maybe they are listening to the fans. This just doesn't strike me as a good thing.
  5. I wonder how many other MLB teams call press conferences mid season to talk about the direction of the franchise. Just another pathetic sign of a pathetic organiztion.
  6. I hated that song when the Cubs were good.
  7. can we get back to hating on the knob gobbling manager?
  8. I think Quade is a meat head and is in way over his head. I never thought Sandberg was the right guy for the job, but there's no way he would call out players like this in the media. Heck, I don't think you call any player out -- young or old. Those are club house / manager's office conversations and have no place in the media. At this rate no one will want to play in Chicago, regardless of how much money is thrown around.
  9. wheels are coming off the Quade Wagon.
  10. the thing with Quade is that I don't see how he fits in the plan. If they go the route of making a big splash with big-time free agent signings, then is Quade the guy to manage a veteran laden team? If they go the route of building from within and having a lower pay roll --- is Quade the guy for that? I don't think so. He's very expendable and although he hasn't done terrible, its not like he's done anything that screams "I'm a great manager." Let him go. . . no hard feelings.
  11. no time like the present. do it now.
  12. good thing that players never leave the organization that drafts them.
  13. yes, my son finds this teams' asshatery to be quite hilarious.

    Dempster

we can only hope that he'll fall off a cliff.
  15. don't worry. . . . they'll win their next game and be back at .500!!!!!!!
  16. He's a pansy and should have pitched through the tightness.
  17. Got bleacher seats for yanks at sox 8/5. Just happy to get something.
  18. i'm one spot away. . . . ..
  19. logged in at 11:05 Started in spot #6 out of 10. Now I'm at spot #3. I'm way too impatient for this crap. . . .just let me buy some tickets!
  20. I also "won" Probably a total scam. The bad thing is that I'm out of town that day. . . . will have to find a wifi hot spot and buy some tix.
  21. thought this would have been about Charlie Sheen's "girlfriends"
  22. not diving for balls. .. . . what an asshat. I seem to remember ARam shredding a shoulder while. . . .while. .. . while. . . . DIVING FOR A BALL.
  23. Rest assured that even in death bob feller is pissed off about something.
  24. A cardinal fan friend of mine and I were talking about this. There are only a couple of options for Albert. The Cards could sign him, but it would all but cripple the franchise financially. That leaves the Yankees, Red Sox, Cubs, and possibly the Angels. Not sure if Albert is a california guy. The Red Sox have a 1B. That leaves the Yankees and Cubs. Both would be able to pay an insane amount of money by then.
