    He wrote a series of columns for Yahoo that heavily advocated sacrifice bunting, hits and runs, and ripped on a variety of statistics. I don't know how that will affect his skills as a hitting instructor, but I'm guessing this team is going to work on a whole lotta bunting next season if he's the hitting coach. Man, those yahoo columns were [expletive] brutal. I wonder if they are archived?

    I remember Ryno always taking the first pitch. . . ALWAYS. . . .. and as much as I idolized the guy, it always bugged me that he took EVERY first pitch. I hate to see a guy like Joshua get the ax, but if they are insistent that Ryno manage the club, it's not a bad idea for him to get his feet wet right here. . . .see how he interacts with major leaguers. . . . for an entire year.

    Even if he wasn't terrible, he'd get fired. That would be no fun having your childhood baseball idol getting canned. . .. . even worse: wanting him to get canned. I can't imagine them bumping him from AA to the majors. I guess he could get a major league coaching job with the Cubs.

    He's managing in AA. I know that. What I'm getting at is that (assuming) the majority of us don't see him manage everyday. Maybe you manage minor league guys different that you would major leaguers. I really don't know. Granted, if he's come right out and said he's a sac bunt, hit and run type guy that's probably not what the club needs.

    how much violence and / or nudity is allowed in a game thread? The interwebs may not have enough to get the Cubs out of this funk. . . . . . . If I were to do a game thread, tomorrow's is all I could do. . . I'm heading out of town and couldn't be relied on for the remainder of the weekend.
