I watched the Nationals' feed for tonight's game. They said that the Cubs had a "great bullpen" and I began laughing. Then they said "they have the best percentage of runner's stranded" in the league. If that is true, I'm truly impressed. Maybe the 'pen isn't as bad as I want to think.

That wouldn't make Soriano guilty of an atrocity. That would just make him a member of the 1988 Cubs. And "member of the 1988 Cubs" would include front office, scouting, stadium staff, random vagrants inhabiting Wrigleyville, etc.. rumor has it that there's a "yosh was here" tattoo on her nether region

Amazing. He's basically pissed because he came to the park ready to play and wasn't in the line up. That's rich for a .230 hitter.

Bradley has 10 million reason to shut his mouth, sack up, and hit the baseball with authority. He needs to stop trying to blame someone and do what he's paid to do. Seriously, no one gives a flying fart if he has friends or otherwise has a hard life. Boo freaking hoo. What he doesn't realize is that he could act like the [expletive] he is, produce at a .900 OPS, and people wont give him any crap. It really all boils down to him sucking nine kinds of ass this year and people (fans and management) getting sick and tired of it.

Ryne Sandberg won the pre game Homerun Derby. The wind was blowing in and he hit liners into the basket / first row in the alley. The rain pretty well assured the AS game was a boring P.O.S. Just one of those things. . . . -
you're a heartless bastard I was thinking that same thing about me :) When he gave up the game tying hit, I told my Dad that there was only one cub player I would have followed to another team and that is Sandberg. Ryno was rumored to have been courted by the Indians one year, but it obviously never panned out. I'd have still been a Cub fan first, however.

You'd think with WGN doing every game there would be an over flow of highlights. I'd love to see some highlights from the Sandberg - Dawson - Grace era, but there's not much out there. There's a VHS called "The Boys of Zimmer" that highlights the '89 team, but that's all I can recall. Mike Royko did a spot on the 84 team, but I've not seen it on DVD or VHS.

that 04 team was so freaking brutal to watch. It angers me just to think about them. I'd rather go through 1000 2006 seasons than another 2004.
