  1. was Gregg a FA signing?
  2. Lou made a good point --- he (Wells) throws strikes and changes speeds. That's a good combination.
  3. Danny Jackson Dave Smith Kal Daniels Candy Maldonado Howard Johnson I'd put Moises Alou on my list. He was lights out with the Astros, signed with the Cubs, and had two crap years (compared to expectations). He got in his contract year ('04) and was awesome again. I hated that guy's attitude, too. . . . .it was never his fault. . . .always griping about something.
  4. I kinda agree with the new guy. Zambrano's outburst --- the tossing the ump out motion, throwing the ball to the OF, throwing his glove, and demolishing the gatorade machine were incredibly childish and stupid. If all he'd have done was cussed the ump, got tossed, and bumped the ump (we've found that it matters not who's fault the bump is) he'd probably have gotten 6 games. It's not out of the question for MLB to have given a few more games for his other behavior. I could have seen MLB throwing out a 10 game suspension (2 games for a SP) just as easily as a 6 gamer.
  5. crap. Naked Steve Stone could have at least made some contact there.
  6. according to me, his name is "wolfe" according to ESPN, the game is at 7:05 Central Time (CST) The pics are real. . . ..from what I've found by sheer dumb luck (if you can call it that) is that he was in Play Girl in 1985. To be honest, I was just looking for a funny picture of steve stone so I GIS'd something like "Steve Stone Funny" and BAM!
  7. I was hoping to find a better picture of his abnormally shaped butt. . .no such luck.
  8. http://www.harrycarays.com/images/about_harry_pic1.jpg Hello again, everybody. Harry Caray here at gatorade soaked Wrigley Field! Boy, Zambrano really gave that gatorade dispenser the business yesterday, eh Arnie? Any-who, today we have game one of a three game set between the Chicago Cubs and the Brooklyn Dodgers! Wow, Jim Hendry has really put together a dandy squad of ballplayers via the free agent acquisition and various trades. But, before we get to the lineups, let's go to our very own Steve Stone who is live in the Cub clubhouse with a special guest interviewee --- soon to be Cub Manager, Sand Ryneberg! http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y169/bhogg/SteveStone03.jpg Hello, Harry. http://cache.deadspin.com/assets/resources/2008/02/harrywemisshim.jpg Holy Cow! Ryno, how'd you get here so fast? http://a.espncdn.com/media/mlb/2005/0731/photo/a_sandberg_412.jpg Harry, you know it's funny. I was told to wait on the giant glove in the clubhouse and Steve Stone would come to interview me. Next thing I know that guy comes strolling in. . . . . . .sans towel!!! I had to pay yosh $5 for an extra towel for Steve to unexpose himself. Then I ran. . . . . so far away. . . .so fast. http://www.rassi.com/images/harrycaray.jpg HEY! What do you think about this Cub team, Ryno? Back to back division titles, not to mention back to back wins over the past 2 games. HA! http://www.autographinglive.com/Sandberg_081607cropped-1.JPG Well, you know Harry, those teams I played on won two games in a row. . . .I think.. . ..didn't they? Or is it really popeye jones? http://graphics8.nytimes.com/images/2006/10/22/sports/22cheer.1.600.jpg http://partmule.com/blog16/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/popeye-jones.jpg .186 3 hr 15 rbi Annnnnnd, warming up in the pen is a guy that we know will one day lead the cubbies to the promised land. Anyway, we have game three of a three game set between the Chicago Cubs and the Pittsburgh Pirates. Today the Cubs go with Carlos Zambrano and look to win their second game in a row.
