  1. Alcantara should have been the guy in the off-season over Cabrera. I wish I knew how close the Cubs were to paying a little extra for that move. Alcantara is a stud. Guy is one of the few left that can easily pitch 200 innings in a season and give you a chance every time out. I've been a fan of him for years. But now, that move just feels weird and it turns the Cubs into the Chicago Marlins.
  2. Take out maybe 1 season and this is who Taillon has been his entire tenure as a Cub. Absolute scrub.
  3. Boyd did a great job getting out of that mess. Turning point of this game
  4. Frustrating inning, but at least they made Jones work to get out of it
  5. It was only a matter of time... Rea has been missing his spots all night
  6. On yesterday's broadcast, they mentioned that PCA has more walks this season than in 2024 and 2025 combined. Incredible stuff. I'm grateful PCA loves being a Cub because if he was in the AL he'd run away with the next 3 MVPs
  7. His defensive improvements this year, combined with durability, are what seal it for me. Resigning him has to be a priority. I don't mind Happ coming back too.
  8. Yeah, I'd say that's the most likely outcome. He'll get his feet wet a bit in September but he won't be a factor in October. But hopefully he's back to form next year
  9. I'm very intrigued by Bryan Abreu, reliever for the Astros. From 2022 to 2025, he had a FIP of 2.7 with an ERA + of 187. This year, he's been absolutely horrendous. Given how bad he's been this year, the Cubs can probably land him for a significant discount. Textbook change of scenery guy who has a long track record of dominance. And it's a half season commitment.
  10. I just hope Steele can contribute something this year, even if he's just a lefty specialist out of the pen. His return would motivate the whole team, like when Schwarber returned.
  11. Could use another night like that with Rea on the mound.
  12. Offense is on fire right now. And Peterson deserves a lot of credit for yesterday's performance
  13. damn wish I got tickets for today's game instead of yesterday lol
