Random thought, and this might be a reach but - If the Cubs went out to get a platoon for Ian Happ, and he's now a L/R dependent hitter (according to the Cubs FO), isn't that a strong piece of evidence that they aren't going to extend him? Given his down-ish year and the recent move, it seems like this will be his last season in Chicago.

Perception that he never embraced being a Cub nor had a strong work ethic. I know people hate Sutcliffe but he said something earlier in the year about how Tucker seemed more interested in being on his phone than being in a batting cage. Maybe there is some truth to that, or at least some truth to the idea that he wasn't a great clubhouse guy. Also, don't discount how many of those boos came from Dodger fans. The guy is performing like a replacement level player

Ballesteros has to lose some weight if he wants to become an everyday big leaguer. Maybe the temptations of Portillos or Lou's was too much for him 😂

Personally, there's no way I'm taking Peterson out of the rotation for Cabrera. Cabrera might actually be a dude out of the bullpen with that velocity. That could be his role for the rest of this season while they figure out what's going on with him.
