I'm happy the Brewers made that trade. I thought this was the year they would sack up and make a big trade like Skubal or Ryan or something. Instead, it looks like they will continue flirting around the edges, if this move is any indication of their broader strategy. And given that they are taking on some money it seems like it is.

Not moving the goal posts, I was wrong about some of the things I said. But even at their best, I don't think it hurts to upgrade one of the corner OF spots (in the off-season). You are right though that pitching is the priority until then. What PCA has done is really remarkable. I admit that I didn't see his breakout coming or that this was the back of his baseball card. I thought he'd creep towards an .800 OPS and take a step forward - but he has become a bonafide megastar and possibly a HOFer if he keeps playing like this.

Ever since I spent so much time harping about how bad the Cubs need a superstar and top 5 player earlier in the year, PCA has turned into one of the 5 best players in the entire sport. The impact that "that guy" can have on the entire team is playing out in front of our eyes. He's pretty much the difference between the Cubs being a .500 team and the Cubs hosting 2 or 3 playoff games. The difference between a quick playoff exit and a team that actually has a chance to win the WS.

hahahahaha. that tweet is gold. But tbh, a bit unnecessary of a shot. Team is 12 games over .500. I'm no fan of "twinkle dee and twinkle dum" but they are a part of this success too.

for Bregman to still be essentially a league average bat after all the struggles is insane. Dude has so much talent.
