  1. And when did I do this? I said I don't want them to get blown out in back to back games. Hardly a controversial statement.. take a chill pill buddy
  2. Today feels like a big ish game. Don't want your rivals to come in here and get embarrassed in back to back games. Also, saying the Cubs need a momentum swing is a doom statement now? The speech policing is getting annoying, it's a game thread
  3. They need a momentum changing play and soon, otherwise they will get swept. Need a big 3-run HR or Imanaga to settle down and give them 6 or 7 good innings
  4. Bregman always swings when PCA has the bag stolen by 5 feet lol
  5. I came dangerously close to buying a ticket for today's game... glad I didn't lol. Anyways... get em tomorrow. One loss isn't a big deal, no matter how ugly
  6. If the Cubs find a way to be 3 games back of Milwaukee going into the break, that would be a miracle. That might even force the FO's hand to make a move earlier than the last minute. And they should get some guys coming back after the break like Cabrera and Taillon.
  7. True, but for his standards he did. When I was watching he gave up a 3 run HR to make it 5-0.
  8. Looks like the Reds will finally beat the Brewers for the first time this season, in 8 tries. Mis got rocked
  9. It's definitely a risk. But if they made a move like that (for Ryan), they'd have to aggressively try to extend him. He's got elite breaking + off speed stuff so I think he'd age gracefully. IMO, he has to be the priority target. If the Cubs dangled Shaw for Gray, they can probably get a reliever back in that package or a secondary piece. I've liked Whitlock for years. Without Shaw, I'm not sure what the Red Sox would be interested in. They have a GM who's trying to save his job and they need MLB ready talent in the worst way. Maybe Ramirez? They'd have no interest in an OFer.
  10. The Cubs should empty their farm system to get a guy like Joe Ryan, and then dangle a guy like Shaw to get Sonny Gray. Those are 2 guys I'd feel very comfortable starting a playoff game, and neither is a rental. Time to go for it.
  11. So after today, the Cubs will have the 2nd highest WRC+ as a team and the 3rd highest run total as a team. Not bad.
  12. great day to pad the run differential and the offensive numbers lol
  13. I'm down to start seeing some dudes come in from the bench. The last thing you want is a star hurting himself
  14. Bregman is kinda worth his weight in gold. He's helped PCA take the next level, and I'm guessing he's said or done something with Swanson too.
