  1. Can somebody take a bat to his back so he has to go back on the DL? Please? I'm sure we could get a pot started for whoever does this.
  2. Definately Dempster.
  3. The way Dempster has been going, I wouldn't say this is a good thing.
  4. Even with the Cubs winning I can barely handle listening to Hawk and DJ. It's virtually unbearable.
  5. Pagan is in left field and Pierre is in center.
  6. Hawk is the reason I quit watching them when they were on. The rule is, if the Sox are winning, turn them off. If they are losing, its pure gold. Break out the tivo, VCR, microphone, whatever. Agreed. They are completely miserable when the Sox are losing.
  7. you really think he can't leave that job if he's offered a GM position elsewhere? i highly doubt there's not a clause in his contract that allows him to opt out if he's offered a GM position. Agreed. And I would love to have DePodesta as the Cubs GM.
  8. Don't worry, that offense is about to go into hibernation. I'm putting the over/under at runs scored over the next week at 20. They play 7 games and will likely be facing Clemens, Pettitte, and Oswalt for the Astros, and Capuano, Zach Jackson (a lefty), Dave Bush, and Doug Davis for the Brewers.
  9. And once again, the White Sox announcers show their class...or lack thereof.
  10. Good thing we have Angel Beltran back. Nice throw Crede.
  11. When that ball crossed the plate, it was a strike. Ump got the call right. Sit down Dye.
  12. With the 2006 Cubs, a win is never secured.
  13. Was that off Ronny's head or arm? His head.
  14. Wow. A "Let's go White Sox" chant gets started up in Wrigley. Wow.
  15. Oh my lord. Just turned the game on and 11 runs for the Cubs?!?! Is the wind blowing out today?
  16. My only ND game this year will be Stanford... Troy Smith, Chris Leak, Brian Brohm, Ginn, Michael Bush, Steve Slaton, Sam Keller and Pat White round out Fox Sports's top 10 Heisman candidates after Quinn and Peterson, but at least at the start of the season it looks to me like a two-horse race between the latter two unless Smith keeps up the form he exhibited at the Fiesta (not entirely likely because it won't get much easier than ND's 2005 secondary). I would even go so far as to consider Quinn the favorite solely because he's a quarterback. If both players put up great numbers, a quarterback is usually going to have the advantage over a running back.
  17. I just want more entertaining games. In the elimination phase it seems like the referee have been moving more into background - the Netherlands/Portugal game not withstanding - than they were in the first round. There are still yellow cards being handed out but for the most part, it doesn't seem like the referees are controlling the matches. Let's hope this continues through the final.
  18. Somebody held up a sign that said this. I saw it on Baseball Tonight. I would just like to congratulate this guy for not only holding up a sign that said this at the Cubs game today, but for getting on Baseball Tonight as well. Thank you. EDIT: The subject line cut off the last part of the topic after I posted it. The sign said "I am a Cubs fan but seriously, this season is ridiculous."
  19. If he is, more power to him. At least someone on the team realizes the Dust Bag has to go. I hope this is true.
