    Agreed. I'm sure they know which games are being televised where around the US. They also know which area code I put in for MLB.TV when I registered which is why they know to black out the Giants and A's. Why can't they allow me to watch the game since it isn't being televised here? Is it that hard to do?

    I think they figure that a baseball fan will choose to watch their national game if they don't have the option of watching their favortite team. Which is completely absurd. Why not just show all the games at once, like the NFL's Sunday ticket. My only choices on Saturdays are Mets or Yankees games, and I have never watched any of their Saturday games in the more than a decade that I've lived here. It draws away viewers. I get Giants or A's and occasionally the Dodgers.

    Agreed. I know the fourth referee claimed he saw the play on the field and if that's the truth than it's okay. But you're right on the other point about seeing it on video.

    That was a good attempt, but I think it took the only shattered batting helmet I can recall in recent history to really start the downward spiral. Yah, Sammy was never the same after Saloman Tores (SP???) gave him that shot to the head.... I hate that man... Yep, Sammy was actually hitting in the .330's in 2003, I think, When Tores decided that Sammy's helmet would look better in 30 pieces. 1. Salomon Torres 2. It was April when Sammy went down so his .330 could be deceiving. Not enough AB's yet. 3. Yes Torres is a bum. I blame him for the downfall of Sosa.

    I would be content with Bonds retiring before he hits #755. Obviously I would love it if he went to jail, but I really don't want Bonds to catch Hank.

    And I still won't get to watch the Cubs on Saturday unless they are playing the Giants in SF.

    Players are almost always going to back their managers. There will be the rare exception, but generally a player isn't going to come out and bash his manager. Not a surprise that Z backs Baker.

    And so he can't criticize anybody? Why don't you look at the whole conversation. Both Neil Young and Lynyrd Skynyrd are known as southern rock bands. I quoted Sweet Home Alabama and Derwood said Skynyrd are from Florida. I responded with the quote you see above. I didn't say Young can't criticize anybody so I'm not quite sure where you pulled that one out of. My point was at least Skynyrd is from the South (Florida) while Young (Canada) is not. That's it. That's a confusing argument you're making. You use a quote from a group from Florida that's saying that a better musician can't criticize a state other than Florida. Then you say "Nuff said" as if somehow this quote ends the discussion. I've read the whole conversation and I'm thoroughly confused by your logic. I said "Nuff said" to make my point about my vote. I quoted that part of the song because of the Neil Young reference by Derwood and not to start an argument. You think Neil Young is a better musician and I think Lynyrd Skynyrd is better and that's opinion so your bolded quote isn't fact but opinion. I don't think my argument is confusing. Neil Young is not truly from the south but Skynyrd is. That's it.

    Because the fact that giving HFA to one league because it's an odd-numbered year instead of an even-numbered year on the calendar is SO MUCH more appropriate?? I think it's cool that the game means something. Frankly, I don't think it hurts a thing. And "This Time It Counts" isn't the promo that they use anymore. That slogan only lives because posters on message boards keep bringing it up over and over again. Give it to the team with the better record. Isn't that why you play the regular season, to determine HFA? Whoever has the better record between the two World Series participants gets the HFA regardless of whether one team won the WC and the other won their division. Best record gets WS HFA.

    July 10 has come and gone, and you're still here. :D I now have two more days. When I wrote the original I didn't know that July 10 was the beginning of the All Star Break.

    They shouldn't get rid of the All Star Game, they just need to make it what it should be: an exhibition. The ASG should not count for anything. It should be for fun. If you are worried about tie games, just end the thing with a home run derby. But please make it an exhibition game. I will not be watching.
