  1. At least it's unearned. C'mon Gooz, keep the lead.
  2. In the first ePatt singled and went to third on a DLee double. Both scored on a Jones single. I don't have Marquis' line but he went three and gave up 1 walk. I think 1 hit (?). You're right on the scoring. Marquis: 3 IP, 0 R, 2 H, 2 K/1 BB And now cubbiechris shows me up with a link to the box score.
  3. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 R H E - - - - - - - - - - - - MILWAUKEE 0 0 0 0 0 0 3 0 CHICAGO CUBS 2 0 0 0 0 2 6 0 (END BOTTOM 5)
  4. Sounds like: 1 IP, 0 R, 0 H, 1 K/0 BB, 8 pitches, 7 strikes. Good to see his command improve.
  5. Saying "hope I'm wrong" seems like he's giving him a chance to me. you're right. However "So other than sucking in 2002 and 2003". . and "suck at pitching" is not so positive. Well, it is true that Marquis wasn't good in 2002 and 2003. Why does everyone have to be positive just because you are?
  6. so basically, other than being easy to hit he was pretty good? also, he sucked hard in 2002 and 2003. That's nice. So what do you think he'll do this year? suck at pitching. hope i'm wrong. Will you atleast give him a chance this year? So far so good for Marquis. Sounds like he's giving Marquis a chance.
  7. He was paid a big bonus, had a good season at low-A at age 17, has a high ceiling and has a relatively good idea at the plate. You forgot the fact that he's a Met. If he were a Royal, he wouldn't be sniffing this list. Given the money and hype he got before he signed, I think he'd be high on lists either way (maybe not as high since he's a Met).

  9. HAHAHA. I thought Mac's were perfect! :D Heh. I'm sure it'd work if whatever it needed was downloaded, but I'll leave that to my mom.
  10. The Webcast isn't working for me - something to do with being on my mom's new Mac. :(
  11. He just called Vargas, Aquino though. Don't we all?
  12. Was there any doubt? He was the shoe-in since this time last year. Tucker, Oden, Neitzel, Haluska on coaches and media's first team. Mike Conley Jr. on one, Geary Claxton on the other. DJ White on 2nd team in both. Rod Wilmont 3rd team on both. You would think so, but the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel made it seem like he and oden were neck and neck. http://www.jsonline.com/story/index.aspx?id=573316 That's pretty ridiculous if it was true.
  13. Darnit, Colvin and EPatt better get playing time on a TV game in the future.
  14. Yeah, I'm pretty worried about Z too. I don't think Wood will be starting this year, but he might be like Smoltz and return to the rotation if he's great in the pen and the Cubs have a suitable replacement for him.
  15. Arron makes ESPN's first team All-American. :) He's getting all the accolades that Ed O'Bannon was getting in 1995, I hope Arron's NCAA career ends the same way (but he has a much better pro career).
  16. I agree, particularly re Wally, who has been a major disappointment, IMO. I would be very happy about having picks# 37, another first rounder, and two 4th rounders for Jones, Briggs, and Ogunleye. (Assuming Wale goes for a 4th and Briggs for 1st and 4th). The Bears already have the starters in place for Jones and Ogunleye, and they are probably gonna be upgrades. Then they get would have plenty of picks to replace Briggs and upgrade every possible position that needs it. Like Goony said, that would replace some huge contracts with youth, and for the net result would likely be a better team in 2007 and in the future. Gosh, the Bears really could re-load the D and OL with all those picks.
  17. Yeah, I really don't see the Bears trading up and the only guy I'd really like in the 10-20 range is Laron Landry. Trading TJ to go up in the second round is basically the equivalent of getting a third rounder - I think I'd have preferred the extra pick, actually (especially given JA's track record in the third round), but that's cool.
  18. Arron Afflalo was named Pac-10 Player of the Year. :D Arron's the fifth Bruin to win the honor, joining Marques Johnson (1977), David Greenwood (1978, 79), Kenny Fields (1983) and Ed O'Bannon (1995). Pac-10 Freshman of the Year: F Chase Buddinger, Arizona (I think Cal's Ryan Anderson was robbed) Pac-10 Coach of the Year; Tony Bennett, Washington State (much deserved) The All-Pac-10 team: G Arron Afflalo - UCLA (Compton, CA) F Jon Brockman - Washington (Snohomish, WA) G Aaron Brooks - Oregon (Seattle, WA) G Darren Collison - UCLA (Rancho Cucamonga, CA) F Lawrence Hill - Stanford (Glendale, AZ) G Derrick Low - Washington State (Honolulu, HI) G Kyle Weaver - Washington State (Beloit, WI) F Marcus Williams - Arizona (Seattle, WA) G/F Nick Young - USC (Los Angeles, CA)
  19. Bowden's awesome (just ask UK).
  20. Yeah, he had a relief appearance. How did he throw 1.1 IP, 1 ER, 1 H, 0 K/0 BB. Not sure how he sounded though.
  21. If we're basing everything on the pitchers' first appearance, Jason Marquis will be the Cubs' ace.
