  1. is that the kid from Clemson? That's Tyler Colvin - first round pick from last year.
  2. Think about the fact that a 26 year old with no minor league experience is rated the number 1 prospect in all of baseball. Over Alex Gordon and Delmon Young. He deserves to be #1. Daisuke's definitely the best prospect with no major league experience.
  3. Wow, what a terrible deal for Detroit, Millen strikes again. Seriously. Getting Bly was his one great move and he just undid it.
  4. Hence the "Catch 22." Dempster would have to pitched solidly (say high 3/low to mid 4, with a whip in the 1.15-1.25) to have any value. Or maybe come June, maybe the Cubs could convince the Reds to take Dempster for whatever. Not necessarily. He makes less than Jason Marquis, he'd be a viable trade option unless he completely tanks.
  5. Eric Steinbech please. Yes please.
  6. Again, it'll be revenge from 2 years ago. :D UCLA plays Washington State tonight, if they win, they win the Pac-10. WSU is the only team left with a chance to stake a claim to the Pac-10 regular season title. I think it's amusing that the Pac-10 is coming down to a game in Pullman (of course, it came down to a game in Berkeley between UCLA and Cal last year).
  7. Remind me again how people are able to get jobs in sports broadcasting despite not knowing about baseball? Why would he becoming back here? :? He wouldn't.
  8. I heard that Les Walrond has looked good in spring training thus far. Can't wait to see (listen to) Rocky pitch since he's now on the 40-man. 1.5 hours to go!!
  9. He certainly looked terrible tonight. Awful pick. Fire Paxson. Give it a rest. Enjoy the 30-point win. How was my post directly bashing Tyrus Thomas? I'm guessing he gets alot of late minutes in blowout games. I would like to see him on the floor more though. A cursory look shows that about half of those games were blowouts.
  10. Wow, what a game. Rough loss for A&M.
  11. Wow, Acie Law AGAIN! That kid definitely coulda gotten a better look for TAMU. But second OT should be fun.
  12. Haha, after the shot, Acie said to his teammates: "That's what I do! That's what I do!"
  13. TAMU! What a shot, over Durant!
  14. I'm a big Nelson fan, I'd definitely have him in my top 20.
  15. That works for me. I still wonder about Posluszny's knee and there are a few guys I'd rather have in the 15-20 range.
  16. Man, what a great game in Austin.
  17. If he does poorly and is dropped from closer, the Cubs might look to make him a starter again next season. There is NO ROOM for Dempster. Not here, maybe. Given how much pitching went for in free agency, there should be a market for Dempster via trade.
  18. Quit your whining. Bulls by 29.
  19. Charles Tillman is pleased.
  20. If he does poorly and is dropped from closer, the Cubs might look to make him a starter again next season.
  21. Quoted the wrong one. Check out Chocolate Milk's post to see what I meant to quote. Mistypes...misquotes...need a break there Raisin? :D Now now, just a few mistakes in the past hour. It only took me till 35000 posts to make a few mistakes. What's your excuse? :P
  22. I disagree. Gooz needs to log innings, not just get a few ML innings. His stuff will translate to the major leagues. It's just too good not to. He needs to show he can handle the workload of a starting pitcher (last year was the first step). You don't waste a pitcher with 3+ above average pitches in the pen, especially when you have a pen loaded with arms as the Cubs 'pen is. He needs to be starting. I don't mind him going to the pen if he gets regular innings and translates to him becoming a starter soon. But I don't think he'll be afforded that opportunity if he makes the team as a reliever.
